On Wednesday night I turned over in bed rather eruptly (through myself over, florgot about bump in my half asleep head!!) and landed with a bump on the left hand side of my belly. I instantly got a sharp pain that wore off a couple of minutes later. Since then I keep getting the occaisional sharp pain in that area. I am not sure if it might be munchkin laying funny as it isnt all the time and only lasts a couple of seconds. I am also getting alot of period pains which I am unsure if this connected. Munchkin has been moving fine over the last 2 days and HB is normal but I have read about placental abruption so just wanted to know what your opinions are?

Didnt want to ring the midwife as it is only an occasional pain

I'd have thought LO would be safe in there. Very well cushioned and protected.

If you have any concerns and want to put your mind at rest then give your MW a call and explain. I'm sure she can let you know if the occasional pain is indicative of anything. Having read up on the symptoms and so on of placental abruption you don't seem to have any of them from what you've described.

FWIW I bashed my bump into a wall, a door and also the dog landed on me once. All past 34 weeks and LO was fine in there.

What Sherlock said lol

Plus i've found that now when i try and roll over in bed i get side pain, i think its cos she's so bloody heavy now!!

Thanks Ladies, I told you I was being a worry pot :)
I just want to meet my LO now and keepm thinking if they were out I would be able to look after them better if that makes sense. It seems like ages till I am due and then 2 weeks possible on top of that, I am so impatient ha ha

i get sharp pains too when i turn over quickly in bed. so i make sure i move really slowly!

I'm a worrier too! I had this too this morning in bed it was just a one off pain in my left side which is where the baby always kicks. When I got up he moved a couple times and it really hurt like he was jabbing me with something sharp in this area, does this sound ok?xx

Ps. he has been moving about since as normal and having hiccups as usual.
