So my DD is still in her original cot bed that she's been in since she was around 6 months old and is 4 in a few weeks. (A big 4 at that)
She's starting to outgrow it and we've talked for a few months that she needs a new bed. Now after finding out we're expecting baby number 2, we will need to take the cot bed and make it up back into a cot for next spring.

So I'm not exactly sure what is the best next bed to go with. Do I buy a junior bed or look to go to a normal size single bed with some sort of side on to make sure she doesn't fall out.

I don't feel like she's going to get much use out of a junior bed as she is very tall for her age so that's what swaying me to a normal sized single bed, but I feel like that would be far too big and I'm not quite sure what I should do.

Can anyone shed insight into what they've done at this stage?

Thanks

I have gotten Jackson a single bed and hes 2.

I just didnt see the point buying a middle sized bed for a few years, plus personally I think its easier for bedding etc.

We did buy a toddler bed but that was like when he was 1 but now that we have moved and decorated his nursery again, we feel there was no point buying him another bed inbetween, plus compared to his other room furniture the toddler bed looks tiny and a bit babyish.

Single bed for us.

We've just bought bunkbeds - Bee will go into bottom bunk when she out grows the cot-bed.

Beddings easier for a single
And she will grow into it no bother
Guards will help stop her falling out anyway (usually)
Plus you get good singles at decent prices x

Thanks Ladies. I think I've been swayed. Her cot bed has been fab up until now but I feel the need to step up. Everything else in her room is more grown up and her cot bed does look a little out of place now.

Single bed shopping it is.

Thanks :)
