Anyone else tired of warm baths already. I get mine to 38 then wait for it to cool to 37 and jump straight in. It feels cold within minutes and I am getting lots of sore muscles I really want to soothe.

Anyone got any tips? X

I've been having very warm baths (warmer then probably recommended but not too hot!) 1-2 times a week the entire time and I'm now 17 weeks with no probs. I think you just have to make sure your not over heating, If your sweating or faint it's too hot! I never fill the bath right up either and only spend 10-15minutes in the bath.. I don't think you need to worry so much about it, I imagine throughout the years pregnant women weren't measuring the temp of their bath! lol xxx

I have hot baths and have been fine. Had hot baths with my first and she is fine. I think its all nonsense tbh. Xx

I genuinely can't cope with cool baths. I leave the tap running to keep it hot. I'm a weirdo haha xx

I had warm baths all way through I'm now 33 weeks and started getting a bit more hot water in to soothe my back and hips as I'm struggling loads but I know people who had hot baths x

I'm a bath kinda person and could literally have one everyday...even made sure I had a water birth with baby number 1!
I have them really quite warm but obviously don't in pregnancy, miss them like mad! End of a long day and all you want is to sink in a big hot bubble bath and soak away the aches!
I think as long as your skin doesn't turn red from the water and your not sweating..it's okay. Just be a little more careful then usual I guess and maybe take it down a few degree's! Xx

I'm so glad someone asked... I have a question that I believe fits this topic. I prefer hot showers and today for the first time I couldn't handle taking a hot shower... I began feeling out of breath and very sick as if my blood pressure was dropping. I had to get out and sit on the toilet for ten minutes before I could get up and now I'm laying in bed cause I feel so weak standing... is this even remotely normal?

It must have been too hot.. that has happened to me a couple of times (before being pregnant) when my bath would be too hot. Id have to get out and sit on the floor or risk probably fainting! I'd see dots and feel really nauseous xx

I mean I can understand feeling a little faint from the hot water. But, what got me was I had a severe shortness of breath. Not sure if that part is normal or not... And, I would have thought that sitting down for a good 10 minutes would have helped. As soon as I got up I felt dizzy and nauseous again and the shortness of breath felt like I was being whip lashed. I ate some food hoping by now I'd feel a bit better. But, it's very persistent.. I almost wonder if I should call the doctor at this point?

Steph do you think you could have had some sort of anxiety attack? You may have panicked feeling the changes in your body getting hot and the shortness of breath may have been a result of your worry about being pregnant. I know I worried about everything; feeling pains, not feelings pains, lack of nausea, cramps, back ache. Have you had anxiety attaches before.
I used to have baths so hot that when I stood up to open the window my head would swirl and I would loose my sight for a few seconds. Obviously that's something to avoid x

It would make sense, but I'm not sure. I had a few anxiety attacks when I was younger. Haven't had one in a very long time. You think it might be that? And if so any suggestions on how I can prevent that? I didn't try to have the water too hot but what I think is hot and what my body would consider too hot could be different things. Maybe I should try a more Luke warm bath instead of a hot shower? Could this possibly help?

I had luke warm baths in pregnancy and it helped a lot. Always felt faint with a shower lol.
Pregnancy hormones could be causing anxiety attacks? Xx

Alright, I'll give the lukewarm bath a try next time. Thank you :)

At least with a bath when it's run, it will only get cooler. I know my shower surges with heat sometimes. Once you're hot it's hard to notice getting hotter.

Standing up after a hot bath used to make me go woosey so maybe it is also due to being upright.

My best friend had an anxiety attack once and she became very breathless to the point she didn't think she could breath.

Have a chat with your GP or Midwife about just to be sure and avoid the heat in the meantime x

Yeah, from now on I'll only do Luke warm not hot. I'm going to shoot for normal room temperature baths. I think that would make more sense.

I'm staying away over night in a hotel. We have a lovely spa bath which I can't use
