we have a lovely spacious bathroom with both a shower and a bath and the bath has taps in the middle! i havent had a bath since 9th june 2007 and even then its only coz the MW told me to when i was in pre-labour. i havent taken baths for years i shower instead.

i prefer showers actually, but occasionally i would like a relaxing bath with lovely smelly salts and bubbles in as a treat- but i cant because i am so very prone to thrush. and anything except plain water will set it off- but plain water isnt special or luxurious or very appealing.

does anyone know any good stuff to put in the bath that smells nice and/or moisturizes which is NOT thrush-causing? hope someone can help coz i fancy a bath!

My sis in law bought some lovely bathing oil from Neal's Yard, it's called 'Mother's Bath Oil' it's just essential oils in an olive oil base. Shall I send you the ingredients list, see if they're o.k for you?

I think dove suppose to be the best idea because of the PH balance. I feel for you.. had it a couple of times and it aint pleasant!!

I'm really prone to thrush, i can't use any perfumed soaps or bubble bath, I can't even use fabric softener. The only thing I've even found I can use is 'Simple' bubble bath. It doesn't have a nice perfumed smell but its the closest I get. Better than getting thrush anyway.

Some lovely natural bath salts should be fine., or some nice essential oils (ask in your local heathfood store).........unlike you I prefer baths, and havent had a shower in a years (getting harder to pull myself out at the moment though) :D

Luckily my thrush seems to have died off, having suffered with it so badly in the past!

Maybe worth ringing the helpline on the website's homepage to check suitability for you. It's more expensive than I thought it would be, but it does last. I have sensitive skin and suffer from allergies and it doesn't irritate me at all. I used to get thrush loads but since I stopped drinking lager and having marmite on toast every day for breakkie (touch wood) I haven't had it (prob co-incidence tho!).

Good luck :)

p.s just noticed there's a 'make your own' bath oil/bath salt range on the website so maybe you can find out which ingredients suit you best and do that!

Try lavender oil, it smells lush and is really relaxing. I'm also prone to thrush and lavender is one of things that doesn't set it off! Boots do it in their botanics range and it costs around £6. Hope that helps and enjoy your bath if you have one!
