Hi,
I need some advice on what im doing at the mometn!
1- when is the best time to massage the baby before or after the bath? I do it before as i apply baby oil.
After that, I still shampoo his hair the way I did it and was taught to do by the hospital. in the sink! I make him sit on the edge of the basin with my left hand supporting his neck and wash his hair!
I was thinking of doing it in the bath instead but don't know whats the easiest way to do it?
do I use a rinsing cup? and how can I manage holding him with my left hand under his left arm and my arm supporting his neck and back!?!

Please help as the sink technique seems a bit old for him!

We do her hair in the bath and we just lie her back supporting just her head (the water is shallow enough that her bum is on the bottom) - I just use my hands to pour water over her head. A cup might make this easier but my daughter loves the water.

I usually put on oil after her bath though I don't do it after every one.

I have always washed her hair in the bath, except for times where i have quickly washed it over the sink when she has sick/food in it.

Calleigh lies down in our bath in shallow water and we use one of her toy bath scoop thingys to rinse her hair over. Calleigh lies by herself with no support from us but she is older than your LO. Previous to that we would have one hand under her shoulders and neck and the other hand free to wash :)

Gotta take a trip to mothercare the weekend because i want to get her a bath support so she can sit up in the bath.

Any oils or cream gets applied after her bath. But if i do massage it can be any time of the day depending on Calleighs mood.

Hi thanks girls for the advice.
I will try and get used to do the hair wash in the bath.
I apply the oil before and after the bath I apply lotion as he has dry skin and if i apply oil later he will feel a bit hot!

Thanxxx.

Finlay lies down in the bath in shalllow water and I wash his hair that way while he tries to soak me, eat the sponge, pee in the water

Try bathing him in Olive Oil for dry skin ;)

Thanks Bee,
Olive oil sounds great, it's always in my mind but dont know why I never used it LOL.

We used it a few times as Finlays skin was really dry and I'm not keen on using any oils

Worth a try!
