Hi all,

Probably a bit of a random one but hoping some of you in Midlands have been to Bar Academy in Birmingham?

I really want to go and see the Crimea on 2nd June, and there's still tickets left so it won't be a full house. The capacity for Bar Academy is apparently 200.

Just wondering, do you think it's a good idea/suitable to go to a gig there at 29 weeks pregnant? The Crimea aren't particularly rowdy music-wise, and I would assume the people seeing them are quite normal people as you can't really jump around/punch each other to their music..

Really want to go but not if it's a bad idea with such a well-progressed bump..?

Help!, OH not being helpful at all, just says he'll take me if I want to go, and it's not the wanting to go that's the issue! :wall:

I have been a few times but not while i was pregnant.

Personally i wouldn't bother going - the stage is in the corner at one end, the floor isn't raised at all so if you're not at the front you can't see a thing. Not to mention the sound - because the room is so small it just sounds awful, its all base! Surely not ideal for fetuses.

Also the room is tiny so even not sold out gigs are always too busy - should only be a capacity of 100 I reckon. There's no where to sit (only about 5 seats) It gets so hot and sweaty because its upstairs and there's no windows. Its also smokey and there's always been water all over the floor in the toilets when i went.

Wouldn't you rather lie in a nice warm bath in a bit of peace and quiet with a good book?

I've been a couple of times, you should be ok if you stand out the way of the crowd round the sides.
