What do contractions in your back feel like? I am concerned I am getting them. Had bad back pain for 2 days anyway and been feeling unwell but in the last hour I have started getting pains across lower bump but mostly in my back that are like sharp shooting pains from left to right side every minute or so but also have constant back ache underneath the shooting pains too if that makes sense plus I am having definite tightenings in belly too x

I've no experience of back contractions but hope someone can help and maybe ring the labour ward too as your before 37 weeks x

Thanks for the reply anyway hun. Hoping it is just weird nerve pain but will ring hospital if it gets worse/doesn't stop after a bath :)

I had back contractions last preg - for me I was in constant pain then every now and again it would get worse, at ford it was infrequent and I thought it was baby pushing his head against my back (he was back to back) it was only as they got more frequent I realised what they were. I can't say I'd have described them as shooting pains.

xxx

Thanks hun, that is helpful :) x

I had back contractions and it was just the worst period pain imaginable in my back. It was always there but eased massively in between contractions, I agree with above wasn't really a shooting pain

Thanks ladies, constant backache still there but the weird shooting pain gone after a bath :) x

Apparently my labour was back to back but I didn't actually feel back pain as such. Mine were like really long bowel spasms

Absolutely fine, not even normal backache lol. Think my body likes messing with me! :D x
