Help! My 19 mo used to sleep beautifully through the night- we sleep-trained at 11 months and since then he has gone to bed awake, put himself to sleep and not disturbed us in the night. It's all changed now and I'm not sure what to do! Went on holiday for 2 weeks in a hotel and he didn't manage his usual sleep thing, probably because we were all in the same room. Because we didn't want to disturb the other guests by letting him cry we would rock him or pat him if he woke in the night. Hoped we'd get back to normal when we got home but it's really bad- he won't go to sleep unless we rub his back and he wakes loads in the night- unless we are there to soothe him he absolutely won't go back to sleep and works himself up into a state. He's quite jet-lagged (we were in USA) and this is his 3rd night home. Do I have to start from scratch with the sleep training and how long should I wait for the jet lag to ease before I start?

Sorry for the long post!

As it's only your 3rd night back I'd try and be patient and see if he settles on his own. Then try and do some sleep training methods if he's still struggling. I've never been abroad with my lb but he often struggles in a similar way to get back to normal once home but usually settles back into his old routine after a while. Fx for you!

Thanks so much :) he's gradually settling down now- fingers crossed things do go back to normal eventually.
