Baby's Dad...

Someone told me yesterday that as me & OH aren't married (or engaged) that he has absolutely no rights to the baby, not that we are going to spilt up or anything but I just wondered if this is true.

Our baby will be taking his name, we will get married eventually but not for a good few years.

thats not true.. before 2004 it was true.. but if the dads on the birth certificate he has rights

Just found this on the Direct Gov website. Seems if you both register the birth jointly the unmarried father gets legal responsbility (providing the child is born after 1st Dec 03).
