Hi ladies hoping you can help,

My little lady is 19 weeks and ebf. Up until recently she was being fed at 7.30ish sleeping on me while I watched a little TV/ read a book, being fed again at 9.30/10 then going in her crib, sleep until 2.30/3 quick feed and change then sleeping until 4.30/5 when she would wake up with wind, she'd have quick feed and tummy rub and pump then sleep until 7. This was great, she was up nearly the same time every night and she was getting later with her 5am feed to the point we were nearly getting up only once. I didn't mind twice as like I said it was roughly the same time so I was used to it.

Anyway we had some emergency work done at home and we had to move into our office about 4 weeks ago. She started becoming more unsettled during the night but I assumed it was because the room was a bit different

We've been back in our room for a week now and I don't know what's happened. She's so unsettled. She still feeds at 9.30/10 but after that she doesn't sleep solidly, she squirms around and rubs her face which knocks her dummy out which stirs her and I'm constantly having to sush her and put the dummy back in only for her to start squirming a short while later. I keep thinking its wind but she doesnt pump or anything. I'm getting so tired and I just want her to have a good nights sleep. The past two nights she's come into my bed at 5am and oh gets sick of the noise and goes to the spare room but tbh I worry when she's in my bed that I'll suffocate her and I'd rather she not get Into that habit.

Any ideas? Sorry it's so long

We tried gripe water and infacol when she was much younger and had really bad wind but neither really worked

Does she show any other signs of wind eg bringing her legs up etc? Does she bring up wind after a feed? If you think it's wind you might want to try Dentinox which works quite well for my lo. Also a warm bath before bed might help shift any wind if her tummy's covered by the water (I looked into buying a tummy tub for this reason but didn't in the end). Only other thing I can think of is temperature - is she too warm or cold? xx

19 weeks in months ? Could be 4 month sleep regression - have a read on Google x

Thanks girls, no doesn't show any other signs of wind and she does usually do a good burp after feeding. I did wonder about temp. The room is usually 18/19 degrees. She wears a long sleeved vest and sleepsuit and usually 2 cellular blankets and a knitted blanket. I know that sounds like a lot but she did just have the 2 cellular blankets on and when I did her nappy during the night her chest felt cold and her tummy wasn't warm. I might try taking away one of the cellular blankets but everyone tells me her tummy should feel warm to touch :/

I'll have a read of the 4 month regression to. Thanks

If her chest didn't feel warm then it doesn't sound likes she's too hot. I was told to check temp by touching their back or chest as that should tell you what their core temperature is so it sounds like you're doing it right.

Maybe it is a leap - I've not got that far yet! Hope she settles soon for you xx

Sleepbags are great for keeping babies warm as they wear them, so their chest is kept warmer than when using blankets.

I also wondered sleep regression.

Or teething pain - with you mentioning rubbing her face.

Playing lullaby music and a soft light works for my little one. Is the room too dark / quiet?

My son was really fuzzy for a while at about 3,5 months and putting him in a sleeping bag fixed it, literally overnight. He woke up every 2 hours before I did that, and he too was rubbing his face a lot (from what I read, that doesn't necessarily indicate teething, and my son wasn't teething either). The first time I put him in the sleeping bag he slept very well and woke up onlu once.

My LO is four months too, has his hands all over his face all the time when he's tired and is constantly sucking and chewing on them. He even pulls his own dummy out and chews on it. Thankfully his night time sleep hasn't been too bad. He did have a rough week a week ago whenhhe was full of cold, but he's settling better now again.

It's funny you say that little monkey I've just been wondering today if she's had a little cold. She had a runny nose one or two days last week but that was it, I've now come down in a cold and wonder if I've caught it off her :/

El1en I think it sounds like the dreaded 4 month sleep regression!
Hang in there, ride the wave and things should go back to normal. we're in the thick of ot too, it massively unsettles babies dy and night and my happy smiley chap is such a grump at the minute x
