Are there any carriers or slings that are suitable for newborn babies? If So, any recommendations? I have a very clingy baby, she is only 2 and a half weeks xx

I'm in a similar position with Eleanor where she doesn't really like being put down.

It's not been too much of a problem while hubby has been at home but he's back at work next week, so I'll need to be able to do bits around the house etc.

I'm going to a bf support group on Friday and they have a sling library there, so I'll be able to try a few out and see which one works best for us.

I used a boba wrap with my second from the minute he was born, I would recommend it. I had the grey stretchy one and found it easy to put on and comfortable to wear. There are different ways you can wear your baby as they get older.

Emily, she is the same. Hates being put down, even for a minute!! I don't mind but I do need my hands free sometimes!!

Hoping for no2, that looks really good. Thanks for the recommendation xx

We used the Cuddlebug wrap. Daughter is an August baby so the fabric was perfect for the warm months.

The close baby carrier was amazing for me. It's pre-tied so quick to get baby in/out and so comfy. You can pick them up second hand on Facebook sling pages or gumtree. It might be a good idea to chat with someone if you have a local sling library. It gives you a chance to try slings on before buying anything!

I got a second hand Kari-me sling although I see Amazon have them for £40 which seems quite cheap - thjnk they were maybe more expensive when I had my first. Anyway totally washable which is really useful and once you read how to wrap it is real to easy to use. I have to be honest it was better with my first baby who was 8lb 8oz rather than my second who was 10lb 1oz - he was just so heavy so fast that I couldn't carry him recovering from birth! But it was really good for my daughter who didn't like being put down and you could get stuff done using it x

Thanks for all the suggestions ladies. I wasn't keen on idea of sling before I had her as I am terrified of falling over but think I need to give it a try (and not fall over) as won't get much done otherwise. Hopefully she will like it xx

We used a didymos ring sling when ours was newborn - we had a stretchy kari me, but it was very hot weather and she seemed a bit cooler in the ring sling. Still use it now to save my arms doing all the work if I have to hold her while doing housework!

We used the Close Caboo, absolute life saver with a clingy baby

Thanks for all the suggestions ladies. I hope it will help xx

I'm keen to try a sling too, I'm hoping to get to a sling library and try some as there are just so many. Someone recommended the moby wrap to start with, I'm not sure whether it looks too hot with all that fabric though. Let me know which you get on with!

I have a jolly baby wrap which is lovely and once used to how to wrap it at the right tension it's great! Sling library's are great for trying them out before you buy them x

I was given a sling so I'm going to start to use that as my lo can be the same. I'm waiting on my carrier to be delivered as my sister is sending it. I prefer a carrier when out and about, and I'll be using the ergobaby with the infant insert.
