Is anyone using this? I was thinking of doing it for more of a storage point of view as we are moving at the beginning of August and don't currently have space to put nursery stuff in my 1 bed flat. Just wondered what kind of stuff you could get on it and what people think of this plan?

Hi, my friend has done this babyplan! And gave the code to family and friends who wish to buy and contribute something to the baby. She has everything on it. Bath, high chair, bottles, sterriliser, all the nursery bedding and blankets, all the matching decor for the babies bedroom. And then all he has to
Do is arrange delivery dates. Quite easy! It's worked well for her, and everyone is different. Personally I don't like the idea, I think it's a little cheeky. It's different if after the birth someone brings you a pressie, but to expect them that's just not me. Same with wedding lists, I'm just funny like that. Each to there own tho!x

I'd be hesitant to start one with Mothercare now, sounds like they're struggling financially as they're closing down 100 stores. I'd just be worried that I ended up not getting my stuff or something xx

Thanks girls :) It wasn't for financial purposes, just feel a bit twitchy that nothing is going to be sorted for a while until we move - looks like my Mum won't be using her spare bedroom for a while

leesey - omg! I had no idea! Thanks for the info, will steer well clear....

I would also steer clear of mothercare, they are closing lots of shops xxx

I bought my pram using the baby plan with mothercare, it isn't so other people can contribute, its cuz we saw the pram we wanted in the sale and wanted to make sure we got it but didn't have the money at the time. So we paid it off every week, and its being delivered in July.

Being able to pay it off bit by bit was actually a Godsend! X

It sounds like a good thing to do but i find Mothercare sooo expensive, things ive seen in there ive got for like half the price elsewhere and theyre the same quality

I bought my pram on baby plan for the same reason as JayJay, because the one I ordered was half price! And we loved it from day one! :) due to be delivered in Aug,

Even though they're shutting shops surely there not shutting ALL of the stores so they should be able to deliver stuff from somewhere!

It wasn't really because of the shops shutting, it's just that shops shutting is an indication that they're in financial trouble. Personally, I wouldn't start putting down payments now with a store that might end up going out of business before I receive the items xx

We used the Baby Plan but paid off the full amount at the same time as I was very lucky my mum and dad bought our pram and my MIL bought the car seat. We did it to choose a delivery date nearer the due date and so that the 2 year warranty didn't kick in until my due date xxx
