Its really strange....OH and I just can't think of a name for our precious boy we are expecting. We have trawled through loads of online baby name lists...spent ages discussing it...but no name really sticks in our minds. :( Its starting to bug me a little as Im such a control freak and hate feeling unsure about things (sorry I know that may sound petty)

The only thing we can come up with is 'Emilio' as a 2nd name (we want a bit of a fancy, continental 2nd name) but cant find a first name.

Family have suggested (when asked for their ideas) Ashley and Jeremy. Which aren't bad I suppose. But I don't feel the 'wow..that's it' factor when I think of them. We want something different, but not too different.

I like 'Jeremie' (Jeremy spelt the french way...as I have somewhat french roots)...but Im worried kids at school bully him and call him 'germ' or 'ewww..you have got germs'...because jerm is like germ. So that is off the list. So many names have been chucked off the list for fear of bullying by other kids...its so sad how this has really affected our choice of names.

Is anyone else completely stuck when it comes to names?

If anyone likes a challenge, please feel free to suggest...we're just wanting

1) an 'english' name with a continental or unique twist

or

2) biblical name but not boring/commonly used

or

3) a name beginning with 'J'

The name does not have to fit all 3 categories...just 1 will do lol

We don't like names which will be shortened..e.g Christopher - Chris, Benjamin - Ben etc

I bet we sound so fussy! No wonder we cant come up with anything. :?

totally with you on this but on the other way round, we are stuck for a girls name!! We have decided boys we love Jake as its not often heard! Again like you I hate names that can be shortend! To me you christian your child a name for a reason, if your going to shorten it, you might as well christian him the shortened version!!

other names I liked were..(we are trying to stick with J to, as the babys second name begin wtih O and so initials will be Jo, whihc is my hubbys middle name! Sad I know but hey!

Jadon
jacy
jago
jarvis
joel
jared
jax
Joquc
Jeevan
Josh

sorry Im not much help!!

Or what about Jason?

Fits everything but the continental bit

aw thanks for your input

smiling here as..

1) many of the names suggested are lovely and already taken by other family members...Jason, Joel, Reuben, Isaac etc lol

2) I mentioned 'Jax' as a potential name to my mum (thought it was quite cool and edgy) and she nearly choked on her rich tea biscuit

3) Im glad someone likes 'Jeremie'...if I can feel confident that the little one is not going to get called 'Germ' and feel negative about it, i could very well go for that. Anyone here with boys called Jeremy? What's the attitude of kids to that name? Am I being paranoid worrying about the bullying thing?

4) My brother suggested 'Noah'. Said it went well with Jacob. Possibly. It is cute.

what about Elijah?

I really like Noah as well, and think it goes with Jacob.

how about Jacques, spelt the french way, but pronounced as the modern Jax ?

Jerome?

jean-jacques (pronounced John-Jack)

Josiah

Job (pronounced Jobe- biblical)

Jezziah

Jonah

:D

I love it! (pronounced Jo-na)

I love the name Noah, wanted to call baby Noah if it was a boy.

Told hubby this, and he said "it sounds awful with our sirname"

I said "What do you mean I think Noah G... sounds lovely"

He said "I agree but that's not your name anymore we're married"

DOH Preggo brain or what!

I think you should call him Jeremie.

I have a couple of friends called Jeremy and none of them has been called "Germ"! One gets called Jem, another Jerry, and the other simply Jeremy...But I think the others are right; if a child is going to get teased children will always think of lots of creative ways to say their name.

Go with Jeremie! It is a lovely name!
