Ha, I'm totally beaming despite the fact I've just gone to the emergency doctor at my GP surgery!

On the way home from work I started feeling odd, and got a few shooting pains in my abdomen. Then got a couple of kicks from baby that felt tender and sore :(

Wasn't sure what was up, I thought maybe another urine infection, so I phoned the GP. Receptionist surprised me when she said 'come straight in and the doctor will see you straight away' - it normally takes days, sometimes weeks to get an appointment!!

So the doctor saw me straight away, I gave her a sample which she checked and said was fine. She then asked me to get up on the bed and felt around a bit. It was quite tender if I'm honest, but she said it could be anything really, and she wasn't particularly worried.

Anyway, she was prodding about and DUNT! the baby kicked her full pelt!! She said 'Oh my that was some kick!' - the first time anyone's felt it from the outside!! It was great :) Weird though, like my skin was caught in the middle of her poking and the baby kicking, I was getting it from both sides!

So, that is all really! xx

PS - handing in a sample tomorrow for sending off just in case, but she says there doesn't appear to be much wrong, so I guess it's nothing to worry about.

Awwww so cute. I cant wait till i feel hard kicks :) X

I wasn't expecting the doctor to say anything, as I assumed she wouldn't feel it!!

Baby books say 20/21 weeks before external kicks are felt. I have a footballer in there methinks!! xx

Lol that's so cute!!

Hope all turns out ok with ur tenderness too :) x

Maybe that's why you're feeling tender, baby giving you almighty kicks?! So cute and what a reassurance from your gp :) x

Hope you feel better soon.... clearly LO was not happy about being poked and prodded!! x

Feels better today, not tender at all really, but I got the same pain in my tummy on the way home. Starting to think it's maybe got something to do with being in the car?

Anyway, thanks everyone for letting me share!! xx

It could be if it only seems to happen after you have been driving. Maybe its your seat belt with it being across your stomach - could be a little tight ??

xx
