Ok i know im a bad mummy for feeding frankie with baby jars she does occasionaly have home cooked but what i want to ask is would it be ok to try her with the next stage of them? Its just that i want her to get used to little lumps of food. I think she is rather lazy though i have tried her with bannana and all sorts of other finger things she can hold and she just wont? Is it me or do i have a lazy baby. Oh and one other thing what is the best jared food to get? feel bad now

I used to get the organics jars for Damien. Don't feel bad or lazy! I don't have time to cook for Damien when me and Mark live off frozen foods most of the time. She may be ready for second stage, Maybe give her a try? Damien took a few weeks to get used to lumps and just used to spit them out. Keep persevering, she may just not be ready for finger foods and second stage yet? You know your baby so go along with her, it's trial and error xx

Lol don't feel bad
i would ut her on next stage if you think she will do lumps, Jack was on them early and loved them.

As for the best food, i dunno i get a mixtuer and depends what is on offer, i always have a stock in incase i forget to get something out of frezer or we are going somewhere, i do really like the Hipp jars as the seem to have a good choice and the Heinz Mums Own jars are good too

Hi Flossy

Aww don't feel like a bad mum! Does Frankie show interest in your food? Does she reach out for it if you were eating in front of her? When you give her the finger food do you have some for yourself and eat it in front of her?

I've just started weaning and Olivia takes finger food better if I give a piece to her and have a piece myself then I eat it and exagerate my eating motions and sounds and she seems to then munch on hers but at first she kind of held it then dropped it!

I don't think the 2nd stage jars would be "bad" for Frankie, you'll be sitting with her so if she gets into difficulty with the lumps you'll be able to help her. She'll soon get used to the lumps I'm sure. Does she chew her food at the moment?

Hi lucy frankie's always watching what we are eating and if ever i have anything which is ok for her to eat i will try her with a piece but she will just hold it in her hand wave it in front of her face and then drop it.
And yes she does try and chew her food if that makes sense? :?

Hi Flossy

I think it's just a matter of time before Frankie starts eating her finger food, they say it's a long process this weaning business and we just have to have lots of patience and keep offering each thing until they get the hang of it - I've only been weaning Olivia for about a week and already I find it a loooonnngg process!

I have tried most of the jars available to give my son variety but the faves are Mums own - and also Mums own ingredients range (like spag bol sauce etc). I try everything I give him and they taste closest to home cooked food.

I do try to give a combo of jars and home cooked but to be honest baby food has to go thro so many tests etc and there are very strict guidelines on salt/sugar etc I wouldnt beat yourself up about not give home cooked all the time.

I found that my son doesnt like to feed himself very often with finger food he gets frustrated and upset so I will break it up and feed him then. I have heard that they all do it in their own time and often they just suddenly get the hang of it. Hope this helps :D

ahhhh dont feel bad hun. Charlie loves the HIPP organic jars, and the Boots organic are nice too.
I picked Beanie's brains the other day about finger foods, and i got charlie some rice caks and have started givning her more things like cucumber sticks, par boiled carrot, pear, strawberries, She has also had a few meals that have just been mushed, not blended, and she has done fine. Id give her a go with the lumpy stuff, im sure she'll be fine and get used to it. xxxxxx

i use jars now and again, if we are going away for the day/weekend or is food is low coz we need to go shopping.

i used a hipp jar yesterday( tropical friut salad) coz i had no puding made for Coby and there was a rolled up bit of paper in there!

i have kept it, going to phone up today and complain

The hipp organic yoghurt with fruit ( you can get 2 varieties) are very good and tasty :) I give thomas both home cooked and jars and i have just strated lumps today. the yoghurt one has no bits so it is great but it is thicker. Mash the lumps with a fork to make them smaller.

Hi

Layla thats aweful let me know what they say to you or give you for that one
