i was thinking about joining one. but i'm way to scared and i'll just think that the mums will think i'm way to young

but how are they? what do you do? and is it to late to get in to one?

Have you joined the website netmums? (sorry mod's if I'm not allowed to advertise it) It lists all the groups/family days in your local area! It is really good!

I take Arianna to a tumble tots back in Aberdeen and am planning to take her to a toddlers dance class while I am here in the states as I dont want her to miss out on any kiddie fun!

Hi

I go to one every week but it only goes up till 6 months but i know of a fe wmore 1 at the library for stories and songs and one is another play group for all ages of children :)
Its fun gets me and the kids out and Kiara loves interacting with other kids even though she gets pushed around :?
Some of the moms seem like cuz there older they know more and were just nothing but in all most the ladies are nice :)
I hope you find one you can go to hun

I go to a baby/toddler group on Tuesdays, boone has looked down on me for being young. I really enjoy going and it's good for Austin to be around lots of other children as he'll get used to big groups and lots of noise.

It's definitely not to late to start going. Make sure that you tell people it's your first time as they'll usually bend over backwards to help you and be friendly.

I went to baby clinic and didnt realise it was a baby group too. I walked in, someone handed me a cuppa and some toast and I got chatting to a couple of other mums, it was really warm and welcoming :D

I have already looked into Tumble Tots and would you believe that they don't run it in this part of the world!

My advice is ask your HV about groups in your area and be brave and go try them out.

You'll be pleasantly surprised I'm sure.

Some are better than others but hopefully you'll find a good one that suits you.

Do you have a Sure Start centre in your area? If you do I would highly recommend making use of it. I went to my local sure start centre and found it fantastic.

There were Mums of all ages, from young Mums 16 + to women late 30's. We all got on well because we all shared something in common being new Mums.

It'll do you the world of good to get to baby groups, your baby will enjoy them and you're likely to meet new friends out of it.

Good luck, definitely make the effort to go along to groups in your area.
