Baby cow n gate porridge

Having porridge issues I make it like the box says and it's really runny, leave it about 10 mins too, like double cream consistency
I make it with less water, nice thick consistency and he loves it, half way through the pot it's gone runny again what am I doing wrong?
Tried 2 different ones and I'm always stirring
Is there a homemade option for a 6 month old?

I think it's normal to happen.
Once Amelie turned 6 m I made her a lovely bunch of oatmeal that she loved.
I got big non instant oats, boiled them, puréed them and added some formula.
Also made apple, pear, cinnamon and vanilla stew and I mix some with oatmeal. She absolutely loves it.
Maybe you can try sth like that??

I found this as well Fresh, Aaron will only take it thick so I abandoned the baby porridge.

At 6 months he's able to have weetabix or ready brek - Aaron loves them!
