Hi girls

I'm busy organising my hospital bag and just wondered

I've washed all second hand bits I've been given but do I need to wash brand new clothes and blankets before baby comes?

I think you do have to wash all new clothes. I'm currently in the middle of washing new clothes for my hospital bag!

It's a personal choice, I have washed stuff that came on hangers clothes wise (that could have been handled by anyone) and blankets/towels that were just folded on display, but stuff that is in a packet I haven't washed.

Xx

Factory's use chemicals on the clothes to keep them looking fresh and bright, not to mention the hands they pass through/ environments stored- always best to wash before wearing with delicate skin x

I am washing everything just to be on the safe side. Plus, it all looks really cute hanging up to dry!

Its a personal choice. I washed everything just to make sure though :)

Just wanted to mention that I work in a large retail clothing store and I wash everything I buy before it gets worn as I've seen what they can go through

Plus it's lovely to do the baby clothes wash  I can't wait to see it all hanging on the line on a sunny day this time.

and I ironed everything last time just because I wanted too! not sure that will happen this time lol

Durham, I washed all my newborn clothes and blankets over the weekend, and spent yesterday evening ironing them! My OH thought I was mad lol.

I know this has been asked a thousands times before, but I've packed 5 sleepsuits, 5 short sleeved vests and 2 hats for baby. Is that enough?

I've got a similar amount to you mayflower, I think I've got 6 sleep suits in two different sizes. Also got some scratch mittens and a swadle blanket :)
