baby car seats in front car seat

i've been told different info, does anyone know that if the front air bag is off can you put the car seat in the front of the car?

edit- i know you can put them in there but i mean legally. I just need to for a day to do a big move.

As far as im aware as long as the airbag is off then this is fine, my OH works at a garage and they turn them off alot for people wanting to put carseat in the front so im presuming its legal.

It's particularly handy if finn's having one of his sessions!!! I can try to calm him or stuff his dumm back in!

I have LO in the front with me when were out just the two of us....airbag is off, all above board and perfectly legal as far as I'm aware.

I'm too scared to do this but I'd love to cos I always have to pull over at least 3 or 4 times to put her dodi back in when she is screaming
