As I'm now 12 weeks and have my dating scan tomorrow, we've been thinking about fun ways to announce our news to the world.
We wanted our 14 month old son to be the one to make the announcement for us. As he loves his building blocks so much lately, we thought it would be fun to spell out 'big brother' with the blocks while he's playing with them. We had a practice run last week, it didn't go too well lol but we did get some funny pics. We're going to have another go tomorrow to see if we can get one of him smiling, or at least not looking too upset at the thought of being a big brother!!!

We havent announced it to the world with having the mc we obviously have told family an close friends even sum people at work only noticed a couple weeks ago an im now 24weeks our big announcement will be wen baby is born xx

That's a lovely idea Blueclass :-)

There's so many good ideas on Pinterest! My oh really wanted to do the 'every superhero needs a sidekick' one that appears loads on there. Xx

Funky pigeon (or one of the other card peeps) do a tree with 3 photo spaces, so I was gonna put a pic of my daughter and her DOB, a pic of my son and his DOB and then a scan pic in the other with the EDD, and dish them out like normal Xmas cards to immediate family and best friends. Then on New Years Eve I was gonna put the picture on facebook so the rest of the world knows.

Aww lovely, looks like a perfect way to announce!!
This was ours...
And also our gender reveal xx

Some lovely ideas :-)
I was bored of the usual scan picture post (I might still post one aswell), it's nice to see so many different ideas.
I wonder if people will get it straight away if we go with the building blocks one, or if we might need a caption to go with it?! Xx

This was ours, with the caption "Jakeys been so good lately that we thought he deserved a promotion. His only child label is expiring in May!"

When I have my second I won't be telling people for as long as possible..

I hope to tell the parents and inlaws maybe 12 weeks earliest but even then I wanna hold out at least until 20 week scan.

I just don't want people all up in my business this time round. I don't want some thing too cheesey, wont do one of them viral announcement things either. Probably something pretty low key and involving Jackson but nothing like televised or anything

xxxx

There all really nice ideas. I like the only child with exp date. Xx

Haha russellmuscle, that is so my attitude too! I'd thought I maybe wouldn't tell anyone until I got so big it was obvious. Unfortunately life had other plans - my sickness was so bad that I caved and told my family really early, and even told work last week after fainting and a couple of near-vomiting episodes. Now the whole world knows my business and I'm a bit raging! Oops.

First time round I got over excited and told my mum at 6w who then wanted to tell my aunt who was over from America so we had to tell everyone. I went 2 weeks over due and was sick until the end. I felt harrassed. Constant asking when will I have the baby as if I asked to be over due.

I am pretty sure I will get sussed before 20 weeks but it wont be on facebook until then.

1. No viral fancy announcement
2. Hold off telling as long as possible
3. No due dates
4. No names.

Thats my rules.

xxxx

I won't be icing the due date this year will just keep it as July x

I made that decision whilst I was still pregnant not to give a due date next baby! Never again!

"have you had the baby yet" on every platform, work, family, facebook, texts, PF

xxx

With my daughter I had an emergency section 10 days early so I never had the is she here yet.
