Am in total shock was disgusting none them deserve have babies there's people out there can't have any 1 made me so bad said she cut her baby up put in her mans stew am in shock

Yes, and the one who microwaved hers? It's absolutely shocking beyond words. x

I'll never get over this till fall over it what kinda people are these x

Omg, didnt watch it as thought it wud be boring, and just be about women sent to jail who happened to be pg and had the baby there.
Obv not!

I'm watching it now.
Those stories were apparent rumours of people who were in the prison. Still shocking!

The people who harmed their babies weren't in the film, it was just other people talking about them.

I dont know if im in the minority here but I believe what one of the councellers on the clip said...the baby is better off being with its mother, wether in a jail or not, it can be devastating and have lasting effects for a baby to be taken away from its mother, and at a young age (under 1) it would have no idea of its surroundings anyway. I think more jails should have units like this, but with the same rules, ie no long sentences ect.

Bit unfair to say these ladies dont deserve children, we've never walked in their shoes and cant judge.

The girl who was on her 6th living child, and just rhymed off where all her kids were.. "3 were adopted, 2 with my cousin, 1 with their daddy" or something to that effect.. I don't think it's fair letting the baby bond with the mother until the age of 1 for the mother to go out and possibly reoffend or get back on drugs, then the child could be taken away and know about it :( I don't like assuming things about people, but 2 women in particular had 6/8 kids and they were in jail, they didn't change for those children what's gonna make them change for this one? :( Poor babies, if I have enough room and hands and didn't need sleep I would have them all, they just want to be loved x

I wasn't sure before watching, but was impressed by the unti actually. I think from the child's point of view it is best rather than being shunted off into care for 18 months.
Don't think i believe the rumours though...not being funny but how the hell do you fit a baby into a microwave!?!?! Think that might be an urbane myth. Lets hope so, anyhow.

I was shocked she was given a place on the unit! I thought the 20 year old with her life ahead of her and a chance to change her life BEFORE she ends up like the other one should've got a place! Taking a child away like that is not going to help her turn her life around.

i didnt watch it but sounds like the stories they have heard are awful and not for the mother who were in jail pregnant and still wanting to keep the child, more stories of child abusers.

I think its a good idea for the babies to stay witht the mums, we dont know what circumstances the ladies were in and why they ended up in jail, and i assume most get out under a year in prison so would be able to get on with life as a family once on the outside.

Im gonna see if i can catch the programme now

Think gets me though is slot them was on there 4 5 6 child but still insist breaking law a could maybe understand if was there first and a mistake x

problem with the 20 year old though is she had a conviction for a violent crime in the past.

None of the girls on the show ate or cut up their babies! The pregnant girl was merely repeating rumours that had circulated amongst the prisoners - there was nothing to say or indicate that these rumours were true!

However it was a bit mad, children being brought up in prison. The mothers were not allowed to have been sentenced for longer than 18mths, anyone who was pregnant and on a longer sentence had to give their baby away 24 hours after delivering...

I kind of agree. It so weird because I think before I had Campbell I would have been completely and utterly against this. Now I have him I can totally understand how that would devestate them to have their baby ripped away 24 hours after birth. (The ones that care anyway). That young girl, I think he name was Donna, she was refused a place in the Little Ones dorm and I was really sad for her. With the help and support of the scheme she may well have turned her life around.

I can't sympathise with some of them, some who have 6/8 kids and still end up in jail, they are irresponsible mothers, I would never do anything that would result in me being taken away from my son, I wouldn't touch a drug because I am a mother who has responsibilities, those 2 women inparticular have had multiple chances to do the right thing and they haven't. Yeah its great the baby bonding with the mummy for the first year, but what about the other kids? That are spread out and don't have a stable home, I think the unit is great for people who are in for the first time, don't have a history etc, and are having their first kids? Watching, I would love to believe that they are doing it for the baby but something inside me thinks its a better option than being on lockdown 12 hours a day x

I saw this last night too and was appauled! Its just so sad! I also watched a program on anytime tv called Fight babies or something. About teaching children very young thai fighting and making them compete! There was a little girl aged 5, who before her "fight" was crying and didnt want to do it then her parents were on the ringside screaming hit her princess and other stuff! i cried - it really upset me! How can parents do this to?? x

The woman that had 8 children all with different family members ect, one of the carers said that if she got to keep this child in the unit she might be able to bond more with it, than the other children, which in turn might spur on a better life and make her want the rest of her kids back.

I found the show emotionally draining, its such a shame for all concerned.

I watched this show too, and in some circumstances I do agree that the mothers should be able to keep their babies with them, and the fact that mothers of the program are 20% less likely to reoffend is a good thing, however I was shocked the girl with the 6 kids got a place on the unit as she didnt change for her other kids and also said she had bonded with her other kids but still was out doing drugs!! I felt sorry for the girl Donna has it had only been an accusation of violence towards someone but still ruled her off the course, and the course couldve changed her life for the better.

Daniph1 I seen the 'Babys that fight' and I do Mixed marital arts (cage fighting) and also kickboxing and have taught my daughter to punch and kick since she was 4, and I do see the benifits of kids doing marital arts as it is a great form of disipline. However, my daughter has never competed and I would never make her as she is too mild mannered and I know she wouldnt like it. Im totally against sending a crying child into a ring to fight infront of a crowd, its not fair on the little girl to make her do something she doesnt want to. However you could tell the boys in the show, loved doing the competitions, but I dont agree with children fighting without full protective gear (Head guards etc). xx

I caught up on this last night, was a shame the young girl expecting her first didn't get a place yet the mum who had 6 and not changed still got a place. The prostitute woman was quite shocking, did I hear right that she had twins at 11? 11! I was still playing dolls then! Maybe something bad had happened to her back then. she was quite open about not knowing if her baby would be black or white, how worrying not knowing who would have the baby depending on the father. Some of these women just didn't seem to learn from past mistakes and having their kids taken away though and if having a baby doesnt sort your life out there's not much else that will I guess.
