So on the morning of the 25th may I had a bloody show, wondered if this meant anything as I hadn't had this with my first and of course you compare EVERYTHING) anyway thought this could be a positive..it was also fil 70th bday, and I was 38+6, also thought baba would be early.

Nothing for the rest of the day, hubby got home and we made our way to the in laws for a party tea with the family. In a nutshell I got up to get myself a chicken drumstick and gush my waters went all over the living room floor...brother in laws pic was a face, sil grabbed mil's best fleece and shoved it between my legs, honestly it was so surreal!

Phoned Mau who said no need to rush, have a bath etc then go get checked. So 4hours later at 9pm off we went, contractions had started, I was examined and told I was 2cm, slightly gutted :-( so we walked the grounds of the hospital and returned at 12 midnight, I was 3cm...absolutely mortified, I was so much quicker with my lo! Midwife told me to stay and when pain got bad enough where I needed gas and air...so I held off until 3:15, re examined at 4-5cm so finally could go to birth center, gas and air started, wonderful at first...then in the pool where contractions really whacked up! I screamed and swore and said I couldn't do it, it really bloody hurt, my baby arrived within 2 hours of arrival at the birthing centre, Ava Rebecca born at 5:47am weighing 6lb 8 1/2oz, my birth plan went to plan, I had delayed cord clamping, 3rd stage physiological and water birth, no stitches bonus!

We were team yellow and absolutely shocked when we got a girl, we are very lucky to have one of each. Totally in love all over again xx
