The last few days my asthma seems to be getting worse, to the point today i do feel a little light headed. I take my preventer, morning and night and now finding i am having to use my blue inhale 3 / 4 times during the day.

Anyone else have asthma and got any advice?

Mine is worse at the moment but I think it's due to a cold I had a couple of weeks ago and will just take a wee while to leave my system. I'm always told to increase my preventative to 2 puffs morning and night if worse. Can you increase it or do you take 2 puffs already?

Thank you Snappykat
I already take two puffs and the stronger preventative. Maybe i will make a doctors appointment tomorrow if i still feel the say.

Sounds like the best course of action to be honest, let us know how you get on x

My asthma was AWFUL from about 14 weeks to 20 weeks and I suffered two big asthma attacks where I ended up in A&E. I'd never really had asthma very badly before.

I went to see my midwife and went to the docs to see the asthma nurse. It turned out I had an airways infection and that I'd not been taking my preventer properly and so was given a spacer to help. I have been fine since about 20 weeks but for about 3 weeks was taking the blue inhaler pretty much every half hour day and night and was being sick with the gasping for breath - it was very traumatic.

My best advice is to see your asthma nurse and inform your midwife. Good luck hon- I completely understand how exhausting and scary it is.

mine was worse around 16-24 weeks as i think i picked up some kind of virus/ cold that was going around work and then i passed it to OH and he gave it back to me!! Probably best to check with the doctor - maybe you need to change your type of pump (i got mine changed as it was poo last august)!!

hey! i suffer with reallly bad asthma, im on seretide 250 3 pumps in the morning, 3 pumps at night and use my blue 2 times at least in the day. i saw the asthma nurse the other day, and she said its fine to take more than 2 puffs of the preventer until your asthma improves, or go on a stronger one, which is what i am doing. hope that helps ! xx
