Hi guys

I can't sleep so thought I would pop on here but was wondering if anyone else has Asthma and how you are getting on.

I think I have picked up a cold so it's not helping at the moment but I wondered if anyone else has raised whis as a concern with their midwife.

Hi,

I have asthma - although mild but i was around 20 weeks when i developed this cold/ fluey symptoms and breathing was harder than normal but it thankfully only lasted a week!! I know there were a few bugs going around work and OH's work so i put it down to that - but apart from that my asthma has been fine!!
I haven't raised it with midwife as i hadn't been able to see her or get an appointment but i couldn't be bothered when it lasted about a week and no problems since!!

Mine has been worse as I seem to have had a cold for the past month. I have just done what I normally do when I have a cold and that's increase my preventative. It seems to be easing off now thankfully.

I've had asthma sinse i was a baby and this last week it has been terrible because i picked up a chest infection so at some points im really struggling with it. I don't really understand when im meant to contact my midwife seeing as i have no idea who its is ...

My Asthma has got noticeabley worse since becoming pregnant and i have to use my inhales more than i use to before. The evenings it seems to get worse.

Also due to my swimming tops having a bra in, so they don't fit me at the moment, but to small for maternity swim wear at the mo, i am not swimming as much, which i am sure helps my asthma a lot, so this could be a factor too.

I did notice it get worse since 16 weeks too.

Edit to say; i do wonder if getting a humidifier would also help.

One of the things I have struggled with is the humidity in our bedroom. I am a little in terms of my Asthma as I am better in a dry heat (when I visited Egypt you wouldn't have even thought I has Asthma)

My main concern though is my Asthma is worse around the week of my monthly cycle. Knowing I am going to bleed for 3 weeks concerns me I may have an Asthma attack as this was the trigger for the last one for me.

Hey! My asthma has got noticably worse in the last week! Waking me up and stuff, really wheezy and stuff! I've upped my steroid as asthma nurse told me to, so jus trying to live with it is the fun part!! Gonna swim more to help it x
