i'm quite a heavy sleeper, and when i'v been very tired i'v slept through alarm clocks- when i was living at home i even slept through my parents' burglar alarm (which was deafening!)

although i'm only REALLY bad when i'm VERY tired. but my boyf has epilepsy and tiredness for him is a trigger (and he'll be working while im not), so i'm happy to do ALL the night-feeds (i wanna BF anyway)- i'm just scared that i'll get so tired i wont wake up when my baby cries! i'd be utterly horrified. people hav assured me this will not happen, no matter how tired i am. are they telling the truth?

yes, they are Trixipaws so don't worry! You will be so in tune with your LO you'll be able to wake up. Believe me, if the baby cries, you WON'T be able to ignore it. Mother nature made us that way!

I agree with sammystar.

I used to be such a heavy sleeper - I used to work with drug addicts in a residential rehab program and the noise level at night was horrendous - always some drama or another going on ..... and I used to sleep through the whole thing...

but with Grace, she only has to make a slight noise and I hear her at night ........

some how mother nature has given us a built in baby listen device....

don't worry about sleeping through - you will be absolutely fine !!

i was a heavy sleep also, once your baby arrives, dont worry your body will change and will auto wake u up..

aw hun dont worry
your baby will wake you up,
emily deafens me if she doesnt get her milk asap
and you'll notice after a few weeks you will wake up just before she does for a feed
(well i do, or am i just weird?)

You're not weird Charlotte - I was the same, I'd wake up in the night and wonder why I had woken up and then Eloise would stir for a feed. I was breast feeding so I also knew as my boobs would start to ache and fill up so I couldn't sleep anymore without feeding her.

Trixipaws - you will be fine, it's natural to worry but when you have LO you'll be suprised how quickly it all comes to you!

I call it mummy radar :D
You won't be able to sleep through your baby crying for their milk doesn't matter how heavy a sleeper you are or how tired... it's mother nature!

Yeah you will be in tune with your baby so you will probaly find you wake just before they do. Well i do any way. Aimee used to wake me up constantly all night but now i sleep through it but I wake for Nathan as soon as he starts to stir. I keep thinking Aimee has slept through but OH will tell me she was up about 4 times and i never even noticed. Its strange.

You will! I have to sleep with ear plugs in as Ian SNORES but even through those I can hear Debs stirring enough to wake me. I'm a really heavy sleeper too, and have been known to sleep through alarm clocks etc. Debs just has to wriggle and I'm awake lol.

You will wake up, don't worry about that!
I have always been a very heavy sleeper to the piont where I felt like I had been in a coma everynight! It would takes me ages to 'come around' and I was always moody when I finaly woke up.
NOT ANYMORE!!
I wake up as soon as Dan starts stirring. Your body will adjust hun.

I agree with everyone else, even the slightest little whimper from your baby will probably wake you.
Lol, when i was in the hospital the other babies on the ward would cry all night long but they never woke me up, than Evie would make the slightest little moan or movement and i'd be awake in a flash. :D

you'll be fine it is intuition.

i went out saturday night got really drunk was out for the count and i still heard luke stir long before he woke my OH up, men are just a different species! :wall:

lol :rotfl:
That's so true rusks! men!
Last saturday my brother and OH slept in the frontroom with Dan so I could have a really good long sleep. Well Dan woke up hungry at about 6am. I heard him before either of them woke up and I was 3 rooms away!
