Hi,
Been TTC for three months now. Really thought I was pregnant this month but turns out AF came anyway, so really not feeling so great :( I know it's early, but am starting to get worried that we may have problems conceiving due to our ages. I'm 31, and my husband is 46. This (hopefully!) will be our first child, and we both have busy lives (we both work in a grocery store sorting online shopping orders etc), but we're making sure to make time for ourselves and to do the BD at least every three days, and i'm using both an opk and the bbt method to track when I ovulate, and my cycles are pretty regular, but I still feel like our ages are set against us before we even begin. Am just looking for some hope :(. Or will we most likely have alot of problems?
Thanks everyone, and sorry for complaining.

It might be worth getting your husband a sperm analysis due to his age but there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to have a baby :) Sometimes it just takes a while. A year is the average time. It took me and my husband (who has sperm problems) fifteen months to get pregnant but it happened :) Oh and I'm 33!

Girl, you're not old! Hope you'll get your bfp soon! :)

Lol thanks everyone! This is really making me feel better :) Yeah I read that 31 isn't too old, just concerned it may be difficult with my husband being 46 though, as heard sperm quality deteriorates after 40. Or did I get this wrong? So we do have the same chance as others with him being in his late 40's age and me being in my 30's?
Thank you very much! Xxx

31 isnt old at all. I had my first at 31, second at 33 and I'm just starting again now at 38 lol. These things just take time

My friends partner has just turned 50 and they have a 4 year old and an almost 1 year old.
I think it’s very much a person by person thing and not a typical you are this old type of deal.

Yep, Bernie Ecclestone is 89 and his wife 44 and they are having a baby. His first child is 65 years old.

After 6 months of trying you will be able to get checks done so this may be worth looking into your husbands sperm.
31 isn’t old x

Male age is much less of a factor than female age. You're still young. It can take a healthy couple up to a year to conceive. x

My brother in laws dad had a baby with his girlfriend at 70. You shouldn't worry. Its frustrating when something so simple takes a long time...believe me!
