Aptamil Milk-shocker grr!!

I buy the ready made aptimil milk and in Morrisons it has gone from 56p upto 67p per carton! No where else has done this only Morrisons. Sainsburys is the cheapest at 54p. I was so shocked at Morrisons! Its near enough a 20% increase! If it was VAT it would of only gone up a couple of pence...but 11p?!! Sod Morrisons from now on!

I just went to tesco for Aptimil .... £9.99!!! :faint:

If its all the same tesco why aint they all the same its like there competing or something  lol think id pass out at that aswell im sure aptamil users nearly pass out when they get to baby isle lol x

Just FYI, Tesco are apparently blaming the price increase on people further back in the chain, ie, suppliers, someone on the sister forum had a response earlier today from Tesco customer service to say that.

But ... surely Tesco had a big enough profit margin to absorb the majority of those costs? The others appear to have done that with a minimal price increase if any, so why not Tesco?

Load of rubbish if you ask me lol, i still stand by my "they are taking advantadge of the VAT increase" view

i agree!! i think the VAT increase is just ridiculous.

9.99 tiny!?! that is awful!! think i'll be going asda from now on!

Im glad ive only got 5 months an then im puttin LO on normal milk! By sometime in the year or next it will go up i think it will always go up. I dont get that aptamil has gone up so yeah ill blame the vat lol. but the cow an gate an the other one i think its barely gone up! lol x

My LO has the 'colic and constipation' version cos he has reflux and lactose intollerant. At least hes coping off the colief as well, that was super expensive  Our milk has always been slightly more expensive than normal aptimil, but this just takes the ****

We could get gaviscon on prescription but Id rather just give him thicker milk than medication, and this milk is cheaper cos its already reduced lactose. If I had other milk Id have to put colief in it and thats like £12 a bottle and lasts a week. A lot of people get colief on prescription but I asked 2 GPs at my surgery and they refused. Told me to use infacol cos its cheaper  I think my doctors must be so unbelievably stupid. I blame them for my milk supply stopping, the specialist wrote to them asking them to prescribe domperidone after assessing me and they wouldnt so we couldnt establish exclusive breast feeding. God the more I think of it the more I hate my doctors!

 We use SMA staydown, no need for colief or other thickeners (although I don't know if this would have happened eventually anyway, or if it's the milk alone that helps), no rise in price around £7.50ish in Tesco and Boots which is about the only two places who stock it around here!
The stage 1-2-3 thing is funny, some stage 3 milks say 12 months plus, some are 6 months plus. Definately one to watch out for when you're moving up the weaning scale. I think we're going to stick with the SMA staydown for a while yet, it's suitable up to 18 months and I'd like to see Ross keeping his milk down a bit more still.

lol I know what you mean. I get a little bit of puke on me every day :p I might switch to stay down, but can you do me a favour... could you read the tin and see if it mentions lactose anywhere. I think Morgans lactose intollerant and the aptimil is reduced lactose. :flower:

i was looking in boots yesterday at this cos Laylas a aptimil baby, and they havnt increased the prices on the stage 3, i asked the cute sales asst to check it for me and he came back and said the price on the tab was right £8.?? sumthing,

i think boots exclude points on baby milk but dont on nappies, but might be worth a look in your local one?

good luck!
