Hi ladies, Im really nervous as we have our first fertility clinic appointment tomorrow morning. Just wondered if anyone has any advice or could tell us what to expect. My gp wants me to go on clomid but as he cant prescribe it himself ( apparently it has to be hospital for it now) he has referred us. Ive had bloods done, hubby has been tested too and all fine with him. My bloods show a lack of ovulation hence the clomid. Do you think it will be a chat and then further appointments,am i likely to walk out with a prescription or is it likely i will get poked about and get to re do all the tests we've done already? just wanted to aim my expectations realistcially and also know which undies to put on!! :?
thanks!!

just want to send u lots of luck. its a nerve wracking but also quite excitin process as something is being done!! i too have irregular cycles- day 58 for me and no ovulation as yet. I have so far had bloods done twice and had an internal scan yesterday. i have not been referred as such still being sent for these by my gp so not able to give u any advice about the clinic. They may wish to give u a scan before putting u on clomid to see what is going on in there. if so i can advise u wear a skirt/dress (with tights to stop u freezing!!) as it will be easier. u just have to take ur knickers off. its not painful and they made me feel very comfortable.
good luck, let us know how it goes

At my first appointment all we really did was have a chat and filled in a load of forms. She took some more bloods and also a sample from me as they wanted me to have a HSG (look at your tubes) and you need to be tested for infections etc before they will do a HSG. She also booked me into have a scan ( was meant to be external but had to have a internal)

It is really nerve racking but you will be fine! If I was you I would take any notes about your cycles (how long they are! when cd1 is/was etc etc) I also had to make sure that my smear tests was up to date as well before they did anything so if you are due a smear test then I would get yourself booked in for one :)

Good Luck and I hope you get some answers  Let us know how you get on
