Since I had Casey nearly three weeks ago I've been struggling to eat a thing never mind a meal! I have a packet of crisps and I'm full. I never get the 'hungry' feeling either so god knows what I'm actually running on apart from fresh air and coffee! All I seem to think about is the bairn and housework. Anyone else the same?
I mentioned to my Health Visitor who was FAR too quick to suggest PND! Seems here they are quite willing to pop you on whatever pills just to shut you up!

That's a bit harsh with the pnd stuff!?!

I've been the same hun, and I normally love my food. I'm sure your appetite will come back soon xx

I was the same hun, mentioned it to my HV and got told to look out for other symptoms of PND! my appetite is back since i have got myself and ella in to a routine, i think eating is just always the last thing you think about when you have a new baby coz there is so much more going on! i would get to bed time and think oops ive not eaten today!!

Yeah Tor thats what I thought! Surely there must be other ladies out there who actually seriously need a hand who really do have PND! Although my doc signed me off my work with depression just before I had fell pregnant (long story but my boss lady was a right bully and I couldnt take it anymore!) so maybe she thought it would bring that back? But I reckon I'm all fine now! Lol.

But thank god its not just me! I love my food as well - I would cry if I could no longer demolish a 12 pack of crisps (yes I do this far too often lol!)!

The HV also said I was to mention it to the doc if I still cant eat in a few days - but my mum said he'll put me on steroids... Which I dont want! But need to sort something fast because hubby is away back to work (he works away) and I'm so scared that I could pass out or something when I'm home alone with C!

Does it just randomly return or what helped it? Xxx

Tbh I think my lack of appetite was stress related in part and tiredness and looking after the baby. I didnt have the energy to eat.

I forced myself to eat something one day and it came back lol

I was the same with both of mine, had to really force food down esp as i was bf. I think it can be a hormonal thing too. Having lots of healthy snacks about is a good idea. Never heard it linked with pnd before though.

I don't thnks it would be pnd, I would say its build up of tiredness, exchaustion, if I'm tired or gone past mealtimes I'm never hungry. With my first, I found that the biggest jump/ change in my life, and in the end I made sandwiches like I was going to work and popped them in the fridge, and have a bowl of fruit near where you feed baby, and then graze from that and also yo can just grab the sarnies from fridge onehanded when it's 12 oclock. Or break them up into smaller bitesized sarnies and grab one each time you feed during the day, yourll soo get back in an eating pattern, looking after yourself is actually number 1, then baby number 2, or number 2 won't happen in the end XX

Thanks ladies! I managed to eat a roast dinner! So now I'm starting to get the 'hungry' feeling back so I want to eat! Thank god haha! Xxx

I was the same for the first coupleof weeks, it was 'baby shock', to preoccupied to think of food! Happens to most of us.

Are you breastfeeding? You should really try and get enough to eat if you are

my appetite has totally went out the window since having leo nearly 5 days ago, things I would have normally eaten no bother takes me ages now, few bites and im full :( doesnt help that I have the cold and feel like absolute crap anyway lol people keep getting on at me to eat!! x x
