Apnoea... anyone else got/had a baby with this?

I think I'm the only one on here with a baby with apnoea, but as there are some newer members here with older kids already I thought I would ask again.

Damien had TWO episodes last night, and the paed's just don't see it as serious. It's starting to really get to me now. It's not a nightly thing, just infrequent. It was only the other day I said to Mark that Damien hadn't had one for a week or so, and then the alarm goes off again. The hospital keep him in overnight usually when he does it, monitor it and then let im home again, but he doesn't do it every night so they don't ever catch him doing it. I swear they think I'm making it up

Forgot to add they think it's cause by reflux, but there isn't alot we can do more about that as he is on meds and thickened milk already. I don't take him in to hospital anymore for the apnoea's as they just don't do anything and they said 'just monitor' it at home.

hows his eating/drinking going now? have you been getting his meds down him?

i know you arent supposed to advertise another site on here but have you looked for a sight specialising in this.

 

I've looked at millions Davina, I want to take him private but 1) I don't have the money and 2) I wouldn't know where to start.

Em, he is eating a bit better but is being sic more, my carpet is mottled shade or blue/grey adn nw sick stained, I am carpet cleaning it every week now Still no meds, he brings it all back up or refuses it.

I'm at a total loss now. HV doesn't knwo what else we can do, I've taken to another hospital and they didn't seem to care at all, just say 'some babies do it but they will grow out of it'. What fu*king comfort is that? Not quite sure what else I can do to get him the help he needs or get us some answers? I know it's not a daily thing but it's sure sending me grey.

You can mention other sites and give web addresses, but where people profit from things or are selling, then you shouldn't. Things like helpful sites are fine to mention (well I do anyway!! )

wont they refer you to a childrens hospital. if they cant do anything and are at a loss, surely this is the next step.

 

it's more they aren't that concerned hun, they tell me he will grow out of it. I want him referred but I've been arguing for 7 months and they still won't listen, they just fob me with the same shit everytime till I'm in that much of a state I just want to get away from the hospital.

blooming hospitals its all about cutting costs. do you know we have a statue outside our hospital i think someone said it cost about 50k. now i am sure that the money could have been better spent.
