Anyone who has had a IUD (coil)

I had one fitted this morning, was fine no pain atall.

I went for the one with No hormones its a copper one that lasts 5 yrs
I have a read on the net woman saying the one i had (no hormone) one made them pile on weight - surely that cant be right if theres no hormones?

I'm expecting my periods to be a bit heavier now but they are only usually a day or 2 any ways so i'm not to fussed - also i smell a bit metally down there is this normal??????? or i am thinking its because it was only a few hrs ago i had it and she used a metal clamp

How did you all get on with yours????

I had hormone on fitted didnt get on with it at all and eventually my body evacuated it but am hoping to try copper one after baby is born apparently it was probably because I hadn't ever been pregnant so womb wasnt used to having anything in it that it evacuated it!

so far i think its great no pain dont know its there - i even had sex earlier

I had a tiny bit of brown blood earlier thats it

i hope it stays fine - 5yrs of no worrying!!!!! PERFECT!

Mary did you have yours changed in them 12yrs?

i only had it changed once after 7 years they did a swab at 5 years to see if there was any infection and there wasnt so they said it was ok to leave for another 2 years
