Anyone on here got premature ovarian failure

Could do with some advice if anyone has been diagnosed with this, we are absolutely devastated.

Hey, do you mean you have had your AMH levels done and you have a low ovarian reserve? If so yes I did. I had the reserve of a person who is about 10 to 15 years older.

Hi, I found out that my fsh levels are 60 which is really bad, they are prob that of a woman 20 years or older. I can't get any treatment on nhs as it's that bad. Looking into ivf options right away but need to know if I can even use my own eggs as dr thinks unlikely.

I've heard that you can get hormone treatment for this but it was only on a soap opera so might not be correct. x

Im thought FSH levels changed with your cycle sorry so that has confused me. I was told that AMH is what determines your ovarian reserve?

The doctor said my fsh levels are excessive, 15-20 is bad and the fact mine is 60 she seems to think that's it, today they done a full blood count and re done all the same tests again. How do they do the AMH test as she didn't mention this to me, is it on bloods? I'm expecting a phone call Monday regarding my repeated results and I will ask then.

Laurat my periods have been really irregular, 17 weeks, 13 weeks, 14 weeks... Given the high fsh test results

If it helps AMH is the egg quantity and FSH is the egg quality, I was told anything over 10 for FSH is bad, and with a result of 60 it would mean that IVf with your own eggs is not really an option, I am really sorry for this news I know it's not what you want to hear. I had a really low AMH but my FSH levels were 8 so deemed ok, even then my consultant told me I would not have a great chance with IVF, told him though I am now expecting my first in Feb.

Get as much info as you can though and maybe get a second opinion as consultants seem to vary on thier stories depending on there own experiences.

Best of luck on your journey, and there is the option of egg donation for you, I know this can be a hard subject and some ladies would not even consider this as an option, I suppose it all depends on you.
