smess im between town center and tovil, but work in a shop in town so am always walking between the two!!!
almeria, i had a chat about this with my midwife the other week, and she basicly said that at the moment its best to go to your local, though it depends what you closest two hospitals are, if there is no real difference but you have a prefrence then you should be fine chosing!!!
mmf1987 maidstone isnt a birthing center till september when all consultants will be baised in pembury, until then full services are being offered in maidstone

they are going to slowly move people to pembury to reduce maidstone to a midwife lead birthing center.
so thats where it becomes a problem for me, as im being monitered for fetal growth and have a history of prem births in both mine and OH's families so depending on what services are being offered at maidstone when i go into laubour will depend decide if i give birth there or in pembury! though the drive from maidstone to pembury in an ambulance would only take 15-20 mins so if i were to go into labour in maidstone hospital and need to be transfered it would be quciker to get there than london, which is the next nearest high tech birthing center (though not sure what actuall hospital this would be, theres loads!)
so basically it will all depend on your "catchment area" and any complications that may arise during your pregnancy/labour! x
