anyone had a sweep??

Hey! Going into hospital Mon morning for a scan (to check fluid) and a sweep. Just wondering if anybody's had one before and if they are that bad?? I said to the midwife 'is it horrendous?' And she said 'yeh, its horrid!'. Ewww.

They NEARLY induced me last night in hospital because of baby's high heart rate but it settled down so they decided not to. Argghhh! X

I had 2, the first one was like nothing much at all but the 2nd hurt like hell! Depends on the midwife I suppose

I had a sweep with dd2, personally it wasnt that bad for me no worse than a smear, bit uncomfortable but its over quickly, helps if you can be as relaxed as possible xx

i had a sweep with my last bby i was in slow labour already and mw decided to help me along i found it just a tad uncomfy but hell it workked a treat she was out that very same day hehe best of luck xxxxx

Good luck with it Danielle! Im getting booked in for one to at roughly 39 weeks because hubby works away and we obv want him to be there for the birth! Xxx

Hi Hun. I've had a few with my first son & most recent birth. Sweeps are quite uncomfortable but like said before, I think a lot depends on the doctor / midwife - & the more tense you are, the more uncomfortable it is. I had one that I'd class as not nice - but the rest weren't that bad.
Very worth it though xxxxx
