Hi Ladies,

So my first pregnancy resulted in an emergency c-section due to fetal distress and my babies head rotating. I was induced but laboured fully and baca me fully dialated which I see as a positive.

I feel I owe it to myself and my second baby to try and deliver naturally this time otherwise I might always wonder 'what if'

I'm rather apprehensive about the whole experience though and trying to remain calm is proving a little stressful.

Can anyone offer any words of advice or share their experience in this??

Thanks x

Hi. I haven't had experience of VBAC, but am about to go through one in the next couple of weeks. My first baby was breech and delivered by elective c section. She is 14 now, so I'm hoping my scar is pretty well healed! Here's hoping some mums out there with experience of VBAC can give us some insight. X

I had an emergency c section at 34 weeks with my dd and went on to have a sucessful vbac with my ds who was born on his due date. Feel free to ask me any questions! x

Again no experience but I've read from others comments that it is good to be well informed and firm about your choices to have the best chance possible. Sometimes hospital policy or practice is a bit restrictive as far as time limits, allowing an active labour etc so it's good to know what the real risks are and whats just paranoia. Lots of ladies have had success though.

My dd is only 18 months so my main reason for wanting to try for natural is so I can effectively bounce back rather than be bed bound. I am booked in for a sweep 4 days before my due date and have stressed that I really don't want to go through induction as aparently it lowers the sucess rate if a VBAC even more.

My main concerns are that having had my dd in Germany there was a language barrier but I remember after the birth there being discussion about my pelvis size, however I have no notes etc that would make this more clear and this time I am expecting a baby boy so think he'll naturally be bigger..

The consultant reassures me it shouldn't be a problem.

Problems with pelvis size are actually very rare and usually have to do with a deformed pelvis. It's something doctors tend to come up with as an excuse when they don't have another explanation though.
