Not been on in a while, some of you might remember me from earlier in the year, been quite a year, got our 1st BFP last December but sadly suffered a missed miscarriage in February for which I had medical management, I got my 2nd BFP beginning of June, had some bleeding so had some early scans, all was ok and we even got to see a heartbeat this time round so we allowed ourselves to get a little excited, sadly a few weeks later after more bleeding another scan showed that I had suffered another MMC, was booked in for another bout of medical management but my body done its job before my appointment* and very painful it was too! We were heartbroken, I never thought we would have to go through it again.

I paid a trip to my GP to check all was ok 2 weeks after, although he wasn’t able to refer me to the recurrent miscarriage clinic just yet as the rules where I live state you have to have suffered 3 losses to be referred, luckily he was kind enough to send me for some routine blood tests and an investigatory ultrasound scan, blood tests came back clear although they didn’t check for sticky blood (not sure of the correct medical name), the scan however had showed something up, had an appointment with GP on Friday to discuss these results, my GP has advised that the scan showed that I could have something called Adenomyosis/ Uterine Endometriosis, when I asked if that could be the cause of my miscarriages he advised me that it was unlikely but after a quick google to see what this condition was I discovered very quickly that is does cause miscarriage!

He has refereed me to a specialist for further investigations, they aren’t 100% sure at this stage if I definitely have it, looking at the symptoms which are heavy menstrual bleeding and cramps I don’t think I have this as AF is usually light, last for 3 to 4 days and I don’t really suffer from bad cramping so unless it is in the very early stages I think it is unlikely I have it and I really hope I don't.

We are still ttc, I’m petrified of going through another loss and if I do have this condition I am not sure there is much that can be done to help me maintain a pregnancy! There doesn’t seem to be any medication they can give me to help me maintain a pregnancy

I guess what I am after from you lovely ladies is help or advice, have any of you been diagnosed with this condition? Did you have trouble Conceiving? Do you have the typical symptoms? Did you have trouble maintaining a pregnancy?

Thanks in advance ladies. x

Hi hun didn't wana read and run, firstly sorry for your loss ((((big hugs)))) my mum got diagnosed with this and was told she may never have kids and she had me and my brother with no problems, my old boss who I'm still friends with is 35 she also has this and was told she would never conceive which left her heartbroken as all she ever wanted was a baby she found out 3 years ago she was pregnant which ended in miscarriage at 9 weeks but then she fell pregnant again and had no problems and now has a healthy 1 year old little girl and has just announced she is pregnant again, so try and keep positive my lovely xx

Thanks for your post Holli, it's reassuring that if I do have this condition it isn't the end if the road for me! X

Just trying to bump this up, there must be people here with experience of this condition? X

Hello! I personally don't have any experience but my best friend has been ttc for 3 years and only just been diagnosed with endometriosis. She has to have an operation to remove it then they've fast tracked her for IVF - but the size of her cysts are like 19cm which is massive of course!! But they even said after the operation that she could well conceive naturally anyway. Sorry I don't know any more detail than that though! Xxx

Sadly the Uterine Endometriosis isn't so easy, really hoping I don't have it but just trying to prepare myself in case I do! :(

I have recently been diagnosed with adenomyosis. I had one normal pregnancy, resulting in my son 11 years ago. When I remarried I wanted children with my new husband. I had one mmc at 12 weeks last June and a spontaneous mc at 7 weeks in February. I've had all the tests. I also have pcos. My consultant wasn't concerned about my adenomyosis and said it probably didn't cause my mc. I am now on round two of clomid in tww. I don't have any of the 'normal' adenomyosis symptoms so it's probably reasonably mild.

Hi Drc - sorry to hear about your difficulties, I really hope that when you see the specialist they are able to give you good news. I don't have uterine endo - just the bog standard kind :) but having researched a bit I discovered some studies that found French Pine Bark Extract (Pycnogenol) to be of benefit as an anti inflammatory for women TTC with endometriosis. So thought I'd share that in case you wanted to have a Google to see if this could be helpful to you if you do get a diagnosis.

Hi Drc, Sorry to hear about your miscarriage, I have just been diagnosed (well as much as you can be from an ultrasound) with suspected adenomyosis too. Did you end up being diagnosed with it? I have just has my second miscarriage and actually only went back for a scan because I started bleeding heavily again less than 2 weeks after I thought it was all over. Doesn't appear to be anything left but she did think I had adenomyosis and says it's something she's seeing a lot more of at the moment. I've had sharp pains and also occasionally get pain during a BM when I'm on my period but otherwise nothing else - my periods have always been very light. Having ready how it affects you during pregnancy, I'm also hoping i don't have it but would make sense I suppose. Let me know if you have any updates if you can.
