Not been on in a while, some of you might remember me from earlier in the year, been quite a year, got our 1st BFP last December but sadly suffered a missed miscarriage in February for which I had medical management, I got my 2nd BFP beginning of June, had some bleeding so had some early scans, all was ok and we even got to see a heartbeat this time round so we allowed ourselves to get a little excited, sadly a few weeks later after more bleeding another scan showed that I had suffered another MMC, was booked in for another bout of medical management but my body done its job before my appointment* and very painful it was too! We were heartbroken, I never thought we would have to go through it again.
I paid a trip to my GP to check all was ok 2 weeks after, although he wasn’t able to refer me to the recurrent miscarriage clinic just yet as the rules where I live state you have to have suffered 3 losses to be referred, luckily he was kind enough to send me for some routine blood tests and an investigatory ultrasound scan, blood tests came back clear although they didn’t check for sticky blood (not sure of the correct medical name), the scan however had showed something up, had an appointment with GP on Friday to discuss these results, my GP has advised that the scan showed that I could have something called Adenomyosis/ Uterine Endometriosis, when I asked if that could be the cause of my miscarriages he advised me that it was unlikely but after a quick google to see what this condition was I discovered very quickly that is does cause miscarriage!
He has refereed me to a specialist for further investigations, they aren’t 100% sure at this stage if I definitely have it, looking at the symptoms which are heavy menstrual bleeding and cramps I don’t think I have this as AF is usually light, last for 3 to 4 days and I don’t really suffer from bad cramping so unless it is in the very early stages I think it is unlikely I have it and I really hope I don't.
We are still ttc, I’m petrified of going through another loss and if I do have this condition I am not sure there is much that can be done to help me maintain a pregnancy! There doesn’t seem to be any medication they can give me to help me maintain a pregnancy
I guess what I am after from you lovely ladies is help or advice, have any of you been diagnosed with this condition? Did you have trouble Conceiving? Do you have the typical symptoms? Did you have trouble maintaining a pregnancy?
Thanks in advance ladies. x
