Any other reason to not start period?

What a mess... I ttc the last time I ovulated (may 27) and was really hopeful. My body was doing all kinds of weird things and when I did get my "period" it was three days early, light and only lasted three days.

I got no positive on a test and resigned myself to trying the next cycle...

And I'm still waiting.

It was due on the 10th and it never showed. I've had no symptoms of a starting period and nothing significant of pregnancy symptoms. I had to go to the hospital because my gull bladder started acting up (which has never happened) and they tested my urin for pregnancy and it still came back negative.

Is there ANYTHING that could be causing this? The suspense is killing me!!!!!

If you've been really unwell or under a lot of stress that can cause your body to not ovulate or to ovulate later in your cycle. Did you do OPK's? I'd recommend a trip to your GP if your period is that late as they can do blood tests for you. Good luck!! X

Hormone imbalance can cause it and probably lots of other things too. I had a similar issue and was sent for an ultrasound as I was convinced I was pregnant yet the test said negative. I wasn't. Definitely get your GP to check it out.

Hi Hun I was having real problems with really bad stomache ache and I was admitted to hospital they kept me in for weekend and did loads of scans and tests it turned out I'm Celiac and my gallbladder pancreas and stomache was all inflamed and enlarged from it, my period wasn't even a period it lasted 2-3 days and that whole time it never filled a tampon it didn't half make up for it the month after when I had the period from hell, I hope this isn't the case for you hopefully you just have a very shy bean but I'd deffo see your gp and see if it's all connected as the stress from it all can delay af xx

Oh gosh I really hope this isn't the case. I'd just be happy knowing what's going on tho. I don't think I'm pregnant or overly stressed so who knows. I just wish my doctor wasn't useless....

Can you not request a different doctor if your not happy with your current one? Have you been on any new medication or anything that may delay / stop af? Xx

I live in a small town so I had to fight to get the one I have. She's not very popular and I've heard a lot of complaints about her but I'll have to deal. And no, no new meds for me

From what I know, there are more reasons than just being pregnant for a missed period. Have you been going through a lot of stress lately? That can cause a late or missed period. As well as extreme exercise, weight loss or weight gain, eating disorders, or it could be your body still working out your cycle.

Unfortunately it take me over a month to get in to see her. I had the same problem last year when I missed my period for 3 months and she wouldn't do bloods until the second month. There was nothing conclusive from my blood (it was a hormone check) so She insisted there was nothing wrong with me and on the third month I demanded more help since I'm healthy and only 25 years old and she booked me an ultrasound. That was in January and I still don't have my ultrasound appointment until the end of July....

This is the same woman who sent me for a blood test when I was feeling off and even with my white count up sent me on my way. A month later I was in the hospital thinking I was having a heart attack because of the amount of chest pain I was in and it turned out I had pneumonia....

So I have booked the appointment which is of course over a month from now but I'm not expecting any help lol

I am going to ask to see a gynaecologist just to get away from her haha

Sounds like you need a new doctor as this one sounds dangerously incompetant. Hope you get to see a gynaenocologist.
