Any other oldies (ehem and first timers??)???

Hi there Floppit! My Mum was 33 when she had me and I was her first (and her Mum was 36 when she was born and Mum was her only child). Both she and I turned out fine.

There's a chapter on older Mums in this great book I've just finished reading called 'Blooming Birth' which is full of all sorts of reassuring stuff about what high risk actually means (and the way that doctors appear to bandy it about willy nilly). I think you can probably get hold of it fairly cheaply from Amazon.

Hi Floppit,

Well, I'm not a mum ...... yet ...... but I'm 42 and not given up hope yet! I keep getting asked by doctors, so on if I have a family already or if I am planning one? They obviously think it's not beyond us 'Oldies' so I say why not!

Congratulations with your pregnancy, hope everything goes OK :D
