Hi all 3rd trimester mums, hope you don't mind me posting this here, just just wanted to say if you are having a planned section or end up with a section thats not under general annestectic - then ask one of the milion staff that are in the room to take some photos for you.

I had all my 3 kids this way due to previous Op's and for the first two we just have pics much later when we are back in a ward, and my first was just polaroid due to going straight to special care.

My last child a girl was born at Reading hospital and they said to us when we got in theatre did we have a camera, they got my OH to get it from the ward and then one of the spare nurses, took it and said they always like to take the camera so we can get on with having the baby!

If they don't ask, please ask them,, they may do it!
These photos these were the best and most treasured pics still today!!!

How amazing, I wish I had had time to think about the camera, being an emergency it was the last thing on my mind - beautiful and treasured Im sure, thanks for sharing them xx

such lovely pics, thanks for sharing xx

Oh Jeese, I didn't think they would do anything like that! Will have to prep my OH just in case, thank you so much for sharing!!!

With the planned sections, always with the screen up, I don't even see my feet at birth!

So for me it's the most real a moment of birth I get, we did say yes to the screen being lowered (not all the way) at birth so I could see her coming out. I would love to be brave enougth to see what they were doing but it's prob not nice!

So thats the reason I love these photos to look back on, my daughter now loves to see her coming out too!!

those are amazing photos! Maybe the nurse that took them should consider a sideline in photography :) Seriously though, that's a great idea, it's not something I would ever have thought of, so thank you!

lovely piccies - didn't think they would do anything like that so is lovely to see those first moments being captured! xx
