Any oldies on here?

Hi everyone. As I'm going to be turning 41 this weekend (eek), I wondered if there were any other "older" girlies on here ttc. Sometimes I think I'm the oldest as I've never seen anyone else 40 or over. If there is anyone out there, what's your experiences like of ttc? Hubby and I are off to the docs on Monday, but I'm not sure what they'll be able to do anyway because of my age. I guess they may do bloods and check hubby's sperm, but stuff like IVF is out of the question now anyway because of my age. Would they send me for scans, for instance? I don't know if there's an age cut-off limit for routine fertility investigations.

Anyway, hope you're all ok. 10dpo today. Not long to wait for yet another bfn!

Don't be too defeatist. Plenty of woman in there 40's successfully have babies. I'm turning 38 in June and I'm not going down without a good BFP fight.

The office block where I work contains several different business. There's a heavily pregnant woman in one of the other businesses who looks well past 41 so I was surprised when I noticed her huge bump. Since then I have been dying to ask her all sorts of personal conceiving questions which would surely get me a good . I'm really curious to know how old she is and if her conceiving was natural etc but I never would because it would be very very rude. So I guess I'm saying that there is hope for us all.

My mum had my brother when she was 38 and my sister when she was 40 both were naturally conceived x

Thanks - there's a bit of light at the end of the tunnel. Thank god we haven't told anyone we're ttc - I'd have hated all the "why have you left it so late" comments. Trust me, I'd have loved to have been ttc 10 years ago, but I didn't have my husband in my life then. I just wish I'd met him sooner. One of those thongs

My cousin had her first (naturally as far as I know) in January, she'll be 40 in August

A friend of mine is 45 and due in May. Massive shock to her! She's got a 24 and 21yr old already!

And my old boss's wife was 43, thought she was going through the menopause, was concerned about her weight gain, worried she might have a tumour got the shock of her life when the hospital told her she was 32 weeks pregnant!

I turned 42 two weeks ago, not telling anybody that we are ttc and probably won't tell anybody if we manage to get a bfp until Past the 12 weeks Milestone our one and only child (so far) turns 10 in November so there will be a bit of a gap in age lol xx hope this puts your mind at rest to know your not the oldest here xx

My mum got pregnant with her 4th (I was 22, sis was 19, bro was 14 at the time) when she was 42 and didn't know, she thought she was going through the change too, went to drs to be told she was 24 weeks pregnant, after 3 kids how could u not know! Lol. My cus was 42 when she had her first after years of trying and treatment for various things and after all but giving up she found out she was expecting!

I'm 40 and TTC No.1 !!

I also hate the 'why didn't you try earlier' comments, my doctor has been very helpful and has agreed that if nothing happ[ens in 6 months she'll send us for tests etc but we may have to go privately.

In Nofolk the cut off age for fertility treatment is 35 although there was a bid to raise it to 42 recently!!

I concieved on the pill last april but sadly miscarried, got pregnant again 4 weeks later (naturally) now im waiting for baby to pop Im 41 on saturday

Thanks girls - I don't feel so old now I'll let you know what the doc says on Monday. Private fertility treatment for us is out of the question, but I'm more concerned in case there's something wrong with me physically.
