I thought it was chicken pox but it hasn't spread, it started 3 days ago looking like this

I'm going to doctors tomorrow but can't help but worry. It's just near the waste band of his nappy.
Thanks in advance

I don't know either! Poor mite, it looks painful x hope someone can help!

He has a cold and did have a bit of a temp last couple of days but it's been ok today, I am not home until 5pm I'm at mil so can't really see doc till late, you think I should be seeing someone tonight?

i would if i was you is he itching them it could be chicken pox some kids do just get a handful of spots x

When I was a kid I had chicken pox a few times (odd I know) and apparently some of the times it was only a few spots, could be that?
Xxx

Thanks for your replies, he does scratch when his clothes are off, I would have thought my eldest would have it if it was chicken pox and he doesn't have any spots just a cold. I'm on the train now but might call out of hours when I get home I will just feel stupid if it's chicken pox.

I read if you don't get it bad your more likely to get it again. Thanks tho. I really hope it is tho and not something I could have prevented.

Aww Hun, even if it isn't chicken pox you couldn't prevent stuff, babies get these kind of things! I would take him to the docs to put your mind at ease!

wss kids get ill they bump themselves they fall over and they have accidents and we cant stop any of it from happening hope LO is ok xx

Thanks, I went to my chemist when I got home they appear to think its shingles or a rash or bites that has got infected because of the nappy but said that just to go to doctors tomorrow. I'll update tomorrow. Thanks again

Let us know how it goes, try not to worry over night!

We had a hand out given at baby group this week with pictures of different rashes on there, it looks a bit like impetigo ImageUploadedByTapatalk1359920240.391454.jpg xx

My best guess would have been also impetigo, though usually that appears on the extremities and bullous impetigo is not the typical either but looks like one.

Well you girls never fail to impress me. It's impitigo, I have been told to use sudacrem regular for the next 24 hours and if that doesn't make it start clearing up he will prescribe antibiotics tomorrow. Thanks for all your help girls, I'm so impressed you were right.

Well I am a doctor so no surprise here but I am impressed with tiaflame too :)

I hope your Little one to be better soon.

Thanks, I didn't know you was a doctor. He knew the second he saw it so I'm guessing its more obvious to you. I've only ever seen it on the face.

Aww so pleased it wasn't more serious Hun! Hope it clears up soon!
Xxx

Yeah it's usually on the extremities or the face but it can happen to be in other places too. It usually needs antibiotics to clear and its also contagious so be careful :)

Thanks, to be honest I'm surprised it's not spread, with two boys under two who are always hugging etc. thanks again.
