Hi
I have never posted before always just been interested in reading others stories. I was wondering if anyone had any advice for me or similar experiences to share.

I have a 2 year old which I conceived straight away and no complications throughout, just over a year ago we started trying again I have since had 3 miscarriages  the last one being in April.
After the third my doctor done a load of blood tests which showed up nothing. She had previously said if I wasn't pregnant again by June she would refer me to a gynaecologist. Then in June she said no to the referral something about "going down that route you only get labeled as recurrent miscarriages an all sorts" I assumed that three miscarriages was recurrent!!
Should I be pestering her?? Do people usually get referred to gynaecologists??

This month my period was due yesterday I done a test which was negative.

Anyone with any advice?

Thanks

I had 1st then 2 losses, then 2nd then 11 losses!! I was referred to fertility clinic along with OH and all tests showed no problems. As soon as I got a positive with 3rd, I was given progesterone pessaries to take 2X a day and given an early scan. Had extra care all the way through and had to take aspirin till 6 months. Im now 35+4 weeks preg with my 4th and again took progesterone and aspirin.
I would be pestering her for a referral. Even with a total of 13 losses, I had to pester them. x

Yes, definitely pester her. Its your right to see someone. 3 miscarriages is classed as recurrent miscarriages and I don't know why she sees that label as a bad thing, it will help you get more tests and possible treatment. The blood tests the GP runs won't be the same as the ones the recurrent miscarriage clinic runs so worthwhile being referred.
I have one son from a previous relationship. Started trying 3 years ago with current partner and have also had 3 miscarriages, I have been through all the tests, they can back clear of any issues so at least I can continue trying knowing I don't have an issue causing the miscarriages, its worth knowing either way. Demand a referral if that's what you want and not just to a gynaecologist, make sure its to one specialising in recurrent miscarriages. Hope they help you, I get so angry when doctors don't provide the care they should be xx
