I know it's just one of those things and it'll prob get worse as time goes on but my lower back is so sore tonight. I get it when I do too much (and sometimes when I don't!) and today I hoovered, hung out washing, washed dishes and cleaned kitchen (all normal stuff that needs doing!!!!!) i have so many pillows in bed it's not funny- all strategically positioned and I maybe get relief for 5 seconds then feel I need to turn again!

Would doc be annoyed at me wasting their time with this? Is there anything they can actually suggest? Should I stop moaning and toughen up?!!

Oh, and are hotwater bottles safe enough to place on my back? (something about baby getting too hot??)

Thanks for any advice - I'll try anything!! Xx

My back is killing me where I broke it a couple of years ago but all the docs can really do it give you co-codomol (this made me majorly constipated). My chiropractor helps a lot though, maybe book in to see one, they fully understand what pregnant women go through

Hope you are feeling better soon xxxxxxxxx

I suffer with back pain normally (old issue), so during pregnancy it has been worse. I get some days where it's worse than others, and like you've said it's always worse after I've done "too much".

I was signed off work around 27/28 weeks for a week to rest it, as the commuting wasn't helping. I've also had some physio, which might be an option for you?

V painful this morning - most likely not helped by the fact I put together a DIY shoe cabinet yesterday! tut tut...

I have been having bad back pain from early on in my pregnancy as i am very small midwife refered me to physio

They told me .... be active but not for too long sit down but not for too long dont sit on anything too hard or too soft try ensure your back is straight when walking. As you can tell alot of the advice wasnt very helpful although she did give me a belt to wear for when i am active to help support my bump which does help a little but not majorly.

She also suggested getting a excersize ball and sitting on that as it promotes good posture and massage balls for safe massages. She said most of my pain is my ligaments not my mussels so not much else she could do but suggested going to gp but told me they would just give me co-codomol which will effect your baby apparently it makes them drowsy so I decided not to go for that and put up with the pain even tho at least once a day I will be in tears because of it :(

oh and forgot to add that she said to avoid baths too as getting in and out would cause more strain x
