i got mine in my bum , but i think others on here got it in their arms.
It wasn't sore just took a few minutes to go in (she said it would hurt if she put it all in at once) you'll be fine rach .
i've had some given in my bum and some in my thigh i've never had it in my arm i'm sure my midwife said there wasnt enough fat there so it would hurt a lot more if done there.
but like little red said it doesnt hurt, mine just tingled as she was puttin it in 8)
I'm gonna have a nice piece of cake in the car waiting for me....that should help me mentally get through it. I think I'm only worried because it the first one....I have to give blood and get anti d on Monday....I'm gonna be a pincushion
Emmy don't worry about it, id say givign the blood was worse than the anti d, honestly it doesnt hurt.
When i got my anti she took blood aswell and i didnt know she was going to do it, she just announced it ( i get really nervous getting blood taken as i fainted the first time) but its over withing a few minutes (all that panic for nothing eh can you imagine me in labour!), although i did faint later on that same day. Sorry don't mean to worry you ( ive had fainting spells throughout my pregnacny), you'll be fine, the anticipation is always worse than the event with things like the anti d.
My friend has just had hers and had it in her arm and said it wasn't a problem, and she has a bit of a needle phobia.
where I live, they don't give anti d as a matter of course. they test your blood at 28 weeks and 36 weeks and on delivery to see if you need it, and only give it to you if you do. I gather in most areas you just get the injection?
