Hi ladies,

I'm 14 weeks along with baby number 2 and have an anterior placenta. I didn't have this with my first baby and began to feel little movements around 15 weeks. I am really anxious in general and have had an anxious pregnancy so far with spotting and a couple of bleeds, and I am feeling really disappointed that I probably won't be feeling movement any time soon because that was such a huge reassurance for me last time.

Anyone in the same boat? I think I'm also just feeling stressed as I have that horrible feeling as if my period is coming...i hope it is just stretching and everything shifting but it is so uncomfortable!

I have a high anterior placenta so I feel alot down low x

I have a anterior placenta too. I'm 17 weeks with my second child and I can only feel movement when I'm led on my left hand side. I feel a bit cheated Tbh and I hope I will feel alot more when I'm further as I know I will worry.

I had an anterior placenta with mine and felt movements from about 22 weeks, but he was my first so you're likely to feel them sooner with subsequent pregnancies, even with an anterior placenta. You'll probably get a lot to the side and down low.

Thanks ladies.

Claire Louise I know what you mean!! So cheated!! Especially for someone like me who really relied on those movements to know things were okay. Wish it was at the back again. But I know in the scheme of things I shouldnt complain and should just be happy that the pregnancy seems to be going ok!

i will be very grateful if i have an anterior placenta. My last pregnancy the movement were so painful they had me practically in tears. It would be nice not to be kicked to bits.

Hiya low down anterior placenta here *waves* I felt weird little bubbles earlyish along, now my little mischief queen is 25 weeks I get lots of movements and have even felt them on the outside as has my partner (i'm convinced she is half rhino) this is the furthest along I have reached in any pregnancy so I am overjoyed by this :D xx

Congrats fairy cake!! Wishing you a very healthy rest of your pregnancy!

GBLiz I would rather have uncomfy movements than none - not being able to feel if baby is moving is not reassuring!

Same here hun, first pregnancy with a posterior placenta and a big, tall, strong baby boy, lots of obvious movement.

This time, anterior placenta with a smaller baby girl. Felt fluttering earlier than with DS but full solid kicks about 3-4 weeks later than with him. I'm 22+2 right now and she's only just gotten to bigger kicks etc. DH has been able to feel from the outside only the last couple of days.

Xx

I’ve had the period feeling a few times so far (I’m just over 21 weeks now) everytime ive has it I’ve grown some more, so I’ve put it down to everything stretches as baby grows more. As for anterior placenta I’m the same as you, my first pregnancy I didn’t have it and I loved feeling movements, in fact I felt my first movement with my son at 14 weeks. Was so excited for it all again, but then got told I had anterior placenta and was gutted, however I felt my first movements at 16 weeks low right side, and all my movements have stayed down there but I feel plenty, in fact last weekend the baby didn’t stop lol, I honesty felt like I was being kicked 24/7 last weekend I was exhausted, this weekend has been a period pain weekend so I’m guessing baby is having another growth spurt, literally thought I was going to pass out yesterday my whole body felt drained, today I’m still achy but feel much better :-) I’m sure as time goes on you’ll start feeling movements more and more and wonder why you worried :-)

Hello! I also have an anterior placenta - felt movement from around 20 weeks - little bubble flutters, now she's kicking me in the ribs, bouncing on my bladder and all over - I feel her regardless of the position of my placenta. We see my tummy moving and big kicks right next to my belly button... so it doesn't necessarily mean you won't feel much, everyone is different. :) xx

I had an anterior placenta with my first and it's anterior again with this one so I can't compare differences but this pregnancy I def felt flutters from around 16 weeks. Now 20 weeks and can feel proper movements.

I have an anterior placenta and it's my third and I'm only really now at 20 weeks getting proper kicks. I feel them all down low though
