Well my scan revealed that I have an anterior placenta which is quite low lying. Anyone got any idea of the implications of this? :eh: x

I think it means u may not feel as many movements. It is fine aslong as it isn't covering your cervix

The sonographer did mention that. However I've been feelin movements for weeks now and even she could feel baby kicking at the scanner through my belly so it doesn't seem to have effected me like that :oooo: hopefully the placenta will move up a bit as baby grows so it doesn't block the escape route

I had this didn't cause ne problems maybe decreased movement now and again ?

I had one with Oscar. It apparently meant he was back to back. I suggest drinking raspberry leaf tea from 32 weeks, in fact, that's an order!!!! b2b babies are supposed to be harder to descend and push out but he came out after a 52 second 2nd stage so it works!! Also, I felt him less and later. HTH x

I had a anterior placenta with AJ and he was back to back too!

Have you been given a date for a scan to see if it moves? x

Thanks girls. I have a scan at 36 weeks and it was put on my notes to "investigate placenta during third trimester" x

I had an anterior and eva was back to back too!

I only felt her kick in one specific area of my bump.

The placenta should rise up with the bump. The thing to worry about is labour and birth which is so much more difficult with b2b babies. Get the epidural on the ready! :-)

I had an anterior placenta and Jack was also back to back.

I didn't have decreased movement at all but then Jack is very strong.

If it's low lying it's 'ok' unless it's covering the cervix at all. It can also move up which will mean nothing to worry about. Mine was spread across the left side of my bump to just over my belly button x

oh that's a bit crap hun :( sounds like its quite common though?! hope it sorts itself out :hugs: xx

Wonder if it's a genetic thing? Both me and my sister were born back to back :oooo:
I guess I'll just wait n see what happens later on, I'm not concerned as long a baby's ok x
