Hi ladies I'm 20 weeks with my second child and have a anterior placenta this time. Ladies who have it too when did you feel stronger kicks ? I'm feeling slight movement mainly when I'm led on my left hand side but not alot .

HI Claire,

I have the same this pregnancy, didn't have it last time.

First started feeling proper movements at 25 weeks, remember as was day of my midwife appointment and was going to ask then felt it that morning :-)

Now at 29 weeks feel really hard kicks up closer to my ribs so I guess that's above the palcenta now? Much more reassured now, midwife did say if concerned to call the hospital and go for monitoring. I found the same if lie on side after a cold drink and concentrated could feel very subtle movements.

xx

Thank you so much summertime that's so reassuring. It's just so strange when the two pregnancies are so different x

Yes mine has been total opposite, lots of being sick this time - still hasn't passed whereas last time wasn't sick once.

We havent found out the gender but its so different I can't help but wonder if it's a litte girl this time around!

I had really bad sickness with my first but not nearly as bad this time around. We have stayed team yellow again , but I had a feeling my daughter was going to be a girl, this time I have no clue x

I’ve had anterior placenta both times.

I felt movement much earlier this time round. But only very subtly. And it was quite unreliable until perhaps 26 weeks ish.

I've got an anterior placenta, first pregnancy though so can't compare it to anything else! I first felt definite movements around 19 weeks I think, but they were quite subtle for ages and it was a while before my husband could reliably feel anything. I was worried that I would miss movements and not be able to track patterns, but it hasn't been a problem. There is an area at the front of my bump that I don't feel kicks in, but there's plenty round the sides!

Around 24 weeks it made no difference. Before then it was gentle movement

I've got an anterior placenta this time but didn't on my first. I'm 28 weeks now and feeling really big movements for the first time. I suppose like Summertime, they could be above the placenta now as I feel them mostly up by my ribs.

I've had one scare at about 26 weeks where I didn't feel baby move for a whole day and went to the Hospital for monitoring. I did feel a little silly when I got there and baby was booting away at the Doppler but I still couldn't feel a thing! Midwives were so nice about it though and said they'd rather me go down 90 times and all be fine than me just put it down to the placenta and something be amiss xx
