Hi everyone!...
I am very new in here but just wondering has anyone of you experienced something called antepartum haemorrhage?
I am on my first pregnancy, after two previous miscarriages and now am currently 26 weeks.
Some weeks ago I was diagnosed with UTI and the doctor prescribed canesten cream which did not work as I went to the doctor on week 24 and detected that I had still the same thing. So doc prescribed some other cream and pessary that I had to take for 7 days.
I did that but just after finishing the 7 days (which was Wednesday) I started spotting. I went to work as normal and apart from brown/pink spotting I did not have anything else. Then Saturday morning I woke up and went to the loo and saw some dark pink spotting and a small clot (small as a finger nail) that came out.
I went straight to the hospital and they kept me in observation until the evening. I felt (and still feeling) baby moving the heart beat was checked twice and it was good, the first doctor did a vaginal speculum examination and she did not find anything abnormal, she told me my cervix was closed and there was no trace of fresh blood. She felt my tummy and that's it.
I did have a few cramps but it did not seem to worry the doctor or midwife. The second doctor came in the evening, she asked me a few questions and read my notes and said she was going to discharge me because there was nothing really major and that they did not know where this spotting was coming from.
She said to book an appointmet with the consultant and also she suggested they would maybe give me two steroids injections and maybe a 28 weeks scan to see how the baby is developing.
On my notes it was marked APH (antepartum haemorrhage).... so now I am slightly worried...although the doctor reassured me that everyhitng it's fine I do not understand about this spotting that I have been having. And I was just wondering if anyone in the forum has ever had a similar experience????
Thanks for passing by..
