Am I the only one who thinks its a bunch a turd?

I went for my first one yesterday and I didn't learn a single thing. I knew everything already from the tv ... internet and this forum.

I thought I was gonna be doing exercises with o/h... but no... we were just talking about positions for birth... :?

I havnt even started mine yet, but mine are called parent craft classes :? lol I don't really wanna go I hate hospitals, but my midwife does them so I best go ay lol

i loved my antinatel classes when i had my first. i met some great people whom i am still in touch with now.

if you don't feel you're getting anything out of it don't go ebony. its not compulsory.

I have not been offerd any and I did'nt with Luke!
I think I know what im doing

I cant wait for my antenatal classes they start 2 weeks today!!!

Like Budge says Ebony, if you are not enjoying them then dont go hun

im just goin for the experience...

just to say ive experience every route i have been given..

this is my first pregnancy... not sure of anymore

I feel like I have to go, I have learnt so much from this forum, books, family etc but still feel a bit lost and confused and like I need a few lessons lol

i found mine a complete waste of time, i didnt learn anything that i didnt know already, they showed us afew positions, and breathing and a video of birthing.
I found all the men that went so childish and squeamish it was unbelieveable! they were making stupid comments and stuff about the birthing video.

I went and hubby came with me for all of them but i made no friends there,

you dont have to go, but i gave me something to do and i also worried if i might miss something really useful.

we had to do those stupid ice breaker excercises...yawn!

Cringe!! I hate ice breaker exercises, so cheesy, like being at school!

yep.. and having my name called at register like im at school again..lol even tho she pronounced it wrong :x

I've decided not to go to mine, tried to explain it to the midwife & she told me off! I'm still not going though...

I think it'd be worthwhile to go along to meet other mums, and probably would... but I'm moving house 8 weeks before my due date to a completely different part of the country! I'll have to just go to parent & baby meetings to meet people.

you have to be socialble when you have kids im afraid. It will come to you once you have your baby.
Try and keep going ebony you'll enjoy meeting other mumms and you'll love the company after you've had bubba.

oh thats a shame.
don't go then.

I'm doing NCT classes and I have had 3 out of 8 so far. The first was annoying as it was mostly about getting to know everyone else and a lot of group work. I found I had to concentrate really hard!!

But the next two weeks were great and I have learnt loads. Everyone is a lot more relaxed as well and there seems to be some great people who I am hoping to keep in touch with. I need all the mummy friends I can get or I will go out of my mind when I am on maternity leave!

ive missed mine becuase they have clashed with hospital appointments (scans etc). I went to the first one, and didn't realise how much i already knew. Felt like a geek when i knew the answer to what colour shouldn't the waters be, what it meant and the dangers, and no one else did!

My community midwifes runs them, and she said they don't teach breahing techs because they find they dont do anything to help!!!

the 1st one was 'normal' labour, and pain relief. The 2nd was complicated labor and c sections. the 3rd was breast feeding and postnat care. The last one was with a health visitor on what happens after.

im kinda gutted i have missed mine, but the MW / nurses are so great at the hospital, i have asked them loads of questions anyway :)
