i feel like im on fire down there and sat on razors..... its worse when ive been stood up for a while.
i managed to manovre myself yesterday so i could look in a mirror   and its just all bright red on my "undercarriage"!
midwife checked 8 days ago and said they are clean and healing well... and got health visitor coming tomorrow... but do u think it would be ok to put a little sudocrem or e45 down there just to cool the burning down a bit???

I wouldn't put anything on it because it's way too sensitive down there..

If it's really stinging/burning then try sitting on some frozen peas (wrapped in a towel obviously!) or if you can't bare that you can wet a flannel with cold water and put that on it.

Ask your health visitor for some advice xx

go to your doctor hun. Get a second opinion. You've heard my horror story with my episiotomy healing I'm sure. It's not worth it to leave it.

The midwife that ok'd me was absolute crap! 24hrs later I was at the emergency GPs and the nurse took one look at my stitches and said "poor you!". I was on antibiotics for weeks and it seriously affected the healing.

It shouldn't be feeling like this, this long after the birth.

Get urself to the bloody doctors girl & get it checked, sounds like it cud be an infection to me for definate... it should be getting better not worse chick. what about those gel pads u can buy to keep it cool?

Jesus Kim it sounds bloody painful! get yourself to the docs girl and get checked again cos it sounds like a bad infection, you should be healing by now.

i would deffo go to docs..alot can happen to stitches in 8 days hun.

MW checked mine on the sat after amber then by the sunday afternoon they had bust open and i had infection...luckily my mum is a nurse so could look. But if its as red as you say deffo go docs.

i did use sudocream but just on the skin outside obv not inside..i cudnt do it myself so had to get my mum to do it which was embarrassing but so soothing. and dwore really bg granny pants till healed!!!

hope u get sorted xxx

thanks for replies
health visitor is coming between 1.30 and 3.30pm today so will ask her.. and if she says it looks bad i will get in docs :)

that's all well and good, but health visitors are not trained for things like that, so I wouldn't trust their opinion on your stitches.

Get a GP to look at them. Even my GP didn't really know what she was talking about and it was only when I saw the gynaecologist that I got any real sense.

i agree hun

and i reccomend tea tree oil , put some in some warm water and bath down there with cotton wool , kinda feels hot when u first put it on then cools and feels great !

ok spoke to health visitor today (silly me thought they were like midwifes lol)
she said go to the doctors.. so i will phone in the morning... couldnt ring today as they close at dinner on wednesdays and HV didnt come until 2 :)

I went to the emergency our of hours GP with my stitches. If they are infected, the sooner you get antibiotics, the better.

Good luck for Docs tomorrow, best to get it looked at.....but don't put any cream on it in the meantime, just try to get some air to it, maybe lie on a towel on your bed with your bits out (obviously ask people not to just walk in unnannounced  ) it will stop it getting all warm & sweaty down there, and the air will help the healing process

im back from doctors.
she had a look and she said theres a rim about an inch thick all down there which is just bright red :-(
she took a swab and thinks it is a bad case of thrush which has made it all much more sensitive down there.
so ive been given tablets and cream.... and ive to go back next friday for results of swab
